Agree City looks class higher than Cerato and Getz. Interior exterior and performance all different. If can afford city, don't consider the rest twos.Originally posted by david3305:Honda City is a class above these 2. It is in the league of Mazda 3, Altis. Go test drive one and look at the luxury interior and you will know the difference. It is also equipped with high tech spec like CVT, steermatic and now vtec engine. If FC is your concern, go for the iDSI model. FC is 21km/litre
Getz is a very basic and budget car. The plastic is cheap and poor quality. matrix is better value. Cerato? from Kia? No thanks!

A bit supprise to hear ppl complain the engine noise of Altis. I feel its engine noise is the smallest in the class if you are in the cabin. Unless you are saying the sound when the bonnet is openned.Originally posted by WalkingDisaster:I do agree that city is better, but the price is phew!
I have tested driven the idsi and vtec.
Personally, i felt that the idsi is smoother while vtec is more powerful, but only slightly. I like the idsi but it doesn't come with airbag and abs...
the vtec price is steep and by adding a little more, the price can match a 1.6 altis... sigh...
I test driven the altis too but dun really like it... engine is pretty loud...
then again, i am used to honda's transmission, so may be a bit biased.
as for the getz and cerato... an advantage for them is that their price is affordable.... as for matrix... heard that it is way too thirsty.... with the rising costs of petrol... have to be very careful...
hope to hear more comments
well, seems recent reviews of the cerati ain't bad.Originally posted by WalkingDisaster:Hi
I was just wondering what people feel about these cars?
1. Kia Cerati
2. Honda City (iDSL/Vtec)
3. Hyundai Getz 1.6
Tot of buying one of this because they are quite reasonably price.
Care to comment?
Thanks
U should go n test drive all these 3 cars yrself..And U should consider if u wan a 4drs car or a 2 drs car.Getz 1.6 comes in 2drs n 4 drs.U should consider the trouble of driving a 2 drs car...Originally posted by WalkingDisaster:Hi

As for performance wise, U can consider city vtec n getz 1.6M.
As for kia, indeed like Heng had said, the review of tat car is quite gd.
At the end of the day,its U who drive the car and u should be happy of wat u own
I guess u have to check if the spare parts of the korean cars r expensive or not,(if u meet accident...Touch wood),i heard tat korean cars spare r very expensive..Originally posted by WalkingDisaster:I understand about the test driving part, however, there is only so much infomation one knows about cars...
I personally like the city, however, just wondering whether there is something that people know collectively that we can be warned.... like rumors about honda car being only reliable for first 3 years etc...
I only know how to drive, but I know nuts about car.
Thanks[/i]
Wait a minute, you mean there is a version of the iDSi one that comes with airbag, abs... blah blah...!
I was lucky to have brought my City iDSI with full spec back in Feb 04. So far the car is wonderful and minor issues are always taken care of by KM. FC is 18 to 21km/litre tested. Maybe you can talk to the SE at KM and ask them if they can bring in the iDSI with full spec.
Aiyo, dun lie lah, how can FC be 18-21 km/lit ??Originally posted by david3305:Those rumours about Honda being reliable for first 3 years is a myth. It comes about becuase of the 3 year warranty. After that period, you need tp payto replace parts and the parts are a bit more ex than the rest. Look at the old Civic still running around as a testimony.
Anyway, the current City iDSI does not comes with dual airbags or ABS. Its a pity. Only the vtec model comes equipped with it. KM is trying to push sales of the vtec lah and hey , their Odyssey is selling like hot cakes!
