i would say YES readily if the cost of servicing n spare parts r not so costly.... i dropped the idea of owning a toyota IST becos of these.....

I sifted through the replies and not many really answered your question.
PIs are a force to be reckoned with these days. The cars they sell, most models are not sold by the agent here. If they are, they offer quite a discount. Anyway, the worry here is aftersales. Not many are credible PIs. The only ones that are good are Hua Yang, Ricardo Motors to name a few. The latter has its own workshop and I was servicing my Celica there for as long as I owned it. When u decide to buy a PI car, please check how many of teh same makes are running on the road. If there are many, the stockist will bring in the parts and u will have no difficulty.
More often than not, small PIs are tied up with some lousy workshop who knows no sh*t about the car and are good for changing engine oil.

My friend is looking at the possiblity of getting a Tuscani 2.0l Manual, which is not sold in Komoco. Do PI import this car?
If so, how much will this car be?

Dear all,
the models brought in by PIs are JDM models. These models are tuned to suit the petrol quality in Japan. That's why some of the export models have lower hp ratings than the models seen in S'pore. E.g Toyota Camry is Japan is rated 160hp while a singapore model is rated 140hp.
Will long term engine reliability of JDM models be an issue in singapore, since they are running on petrols that they are not tuned to adapt to ? -

Example, Japan has RON100 petrol but not available here in SG (before i think available in those fuel named platinum...) that's why 1 reader mentioned on the petrol grade.
Also like air-con... one example here is Toyota Wish which come without rear passenger air-con before, since Japan weather does not warrant it so much as we do have 'summer' here everyday... The car tires that comes with the JDM car may also be different class as what our weather and environment permits here.
Anyway, SG road (+ sometimes Malaysia) usage will not make much different here since we treat our car so nicely unless you really ramp your car hard and put it to extreme use on every occasion... just my opinion -
