Hi,
I just join this forum. I am so surprised over the overwhelming response on this Kia Picanto. I am looking forward in buying this car. For you guys information, they are having a roadshow at Causeway point this week. Do come down to see Kia Collection of cars.
I hope someone can answer my question. I was told that to obtain spare parts for Kia cars will be expensive. It is true? I was also told that Kia and Hyundai are from same family and Korean cars are problem cars. I am not so sure about this facts. For ur info my past cars are Japanese make and I am lucky that none of them cause me any problem. Due to this, I have doubts. I hope someone can clarify this.

I paid $700 for my CoolnLite and like I said... I did not bothered to ask much of a discount cos, I believe in paying for what it's worth. You can go down as a group or just say recommended by Norman or Vincent or even from a club... they can do a special for you... I took the premium package which was retailed at $730. There is a ecomony package that cost about $400... if you want me to bring you down to even take a look, I will be more than willing...Originally posted by scorpey:hi vin,

And by the way, the guys at CoolnLite are way cool... they are friendly, helpful and willing with their service; you will not regret.
As for the rims... it is 14 inch Kyowa (Taiwan brand)... it looks bigger than the normal 14inch because of the design... The tires are Yokohama, quite of an odd size... so cost a bit more... $360 + GST...
If you check around... you will find our original 13inch rims and tires hard to find next time, unless you go for the cheapo brands.... even my 14inch tires are odd already...
Anyway... all have a good weekend... and hopefully see more Picanto the next meetup... or I am free for gathering as and when I am free...

what a nice white picanto here - mine's cobalt blue but i have washed it, new driver, dunno where to find car wash....got bird shit just now, sign....
i wonder if all the water in the windshield used up how?
hmm....on the positive note, came back on ECP just now and my first drive on highway in singapore! nice,

nope, i traveled about 70,80 on ECP so quite fast but still behind the pack but still uncertain on unfamiliar roads. need to buy the P sign and paste on the back.
collected car August 14 I remember, told my SA i needed to get it before the "7th month" - hehee.
its been 2 wks and gotten quite dirty, haven't found out where got auto car wash, if not, got to bring pail down and wash myself. got convenient BP station near my home but think I am going to use Shell but its not so convenient location for me. Hmm.... -

By the way... these tires on my car now is a bit noisy... but safely is my main concern... very good on wet roads...

I think its better to increase size of rims but keep the overall wheel diameter same right? Meaning go up one inch on rims but get 1 inch thinner tyres. -
Guys, looks like the long wait has affected some of us here. I have given up on the Picanto, Astroken is changing to the Rio 1.5 and Kinkichong is now considering forfeiting his deposit and get a Hyundai Getz instead.
