I was helping my friend to check on a car transfer fee on the year 2000 Honda Civic which he intended to purchase and found out a special remark indicated that " Lifespan expires on 02/09/2010. No further COE renewal is allowed"
Why is the COE not allow for renewal??
From what I understand, if the car started life in Singapore as a rental car then the law says that it must be scraped upon 10 years and cannot renew coe. so the car you refer to may have started life here that way and was later sold to private buyer/dealer etc but the 10 yr restriction remains.
