CCF Tulip Hearts Day 2004 at kallang carpark on 5 Sept 1-5pm

hi there a charity gathering at kallang carpark 1-5pm on SUNDAY
my van club is doing a drive thru at the carpark for driver that dun wanna get down and Que up.... at the mean time do some charity for the children cancer fountation.
Into its 9th year, Tulip Hearts Day is an annual event
set aside each year to pay tribute to the courage of
children battling cancer. This year, Tulip Hearts Day
will be on 5th September.
Tulips signify hope and celebration and hearts
represent the love and generosity of all who care.
The ChildrenÂ’s Cancer Foundation aims to
communicate this hope and love to the children and
their families on an annual basis through Tulip Hearts
Day.
The sale of specially hand-made silk-cocooned tulips
and unique tulip pins, aims to raise funds for the
beneficiaries of the ChildrenÂ’s Cancer Foundation.
Stalks of colourful tulips – there are 16 colours to
choose from - will be sold island-wide by volunteers
at S$2 each, and dual-coloured tulip pins will be sold
at S$2 each as well. The dual-coloured tulip pins will
be available at all eight Fish & Co. outlets as well from
5 September 2004 – the fund raising event’s major
sponsor for this year. Fish & Co.Â’s eight outlets are
located at: The Glass House, Suntec City, Novena
Square, Bugis Junction, Jurong Point, Tampines Mall,
Centrepoint and Parkway Parade.
The hand-made silk-cocooned tulip will be available
from 5 September 2004. Each hand-made silk
cocooned tulip will also carry a message which
dispels the myths of childhood cancer.
Members of the public keen to help ChildrenÂ’s
Cancer Foundation raise funds through the sale of
these hand-made silk-cocooned tulips and specially
designed tulip pins can log onto the ChildrenÂ’s
Cancer FoundationÂ’s website at www.ccf.org.sg from
25 July 2004. Pre-order purchases of both the flowers
and tulip pins will be available online from the
ChildrenÂ’s Cancer FoundationsÂ’ website from 25 July
2004.

We understand that some might not be free or have
their own committment on that day (5th September
Sunday), but you can still help us by doing the
following:
1. If you are not free but somehow you will be around
that area or driving pass, you can always drop by to
purchase the CCF THD tulips. The idea is to make it
easier for members of the public to drive thru-donate-
carry on with whatever they are doing. So they won't
have to wait for us at the ending point at the end of
the day like what some of them did last year.
2. If you really really can't make it, you can also help
us by informing your friends about this drive-thru
donation event or even ask them to donate on your
behalf. As we are not allow to advertise about this
event to the public with the media, we believe words
by mouth is also a good alternative.
The objective of this event is not to target for the
amount of money donated, but to create awareness
of children's cancer in Singapore. And we
automotive/social club) can also do our part in our
society. We were once a child, we might have a
better childhood than them (cancer-stricken
children). Even if we don't, at least we let them know
that he/she is not alone in the fight and there is
always hope and love.
