"Ticking" sound from undercarriage after car is stopped.

  After I drive the car for awhile and park it back to go home.. I can't help but to notice some ticking sounds coming from the undercarriage.
  
  Is this due to thermal expansion/contraction?
  
  Anyone hear anything similar from their car?

  yes. happens all the time. nothing to worry about.

  Yes, due to uneven thermal contraction during the cooling down of various metallic components.
