Accident with no damage

How come? Sometimes when people are reversing slowly, they bump into another car... there's a loud sound but no damage to both vehicle? How come?

Only a qualified mechanic can tell you where to spot the damage. The bumper might cost just a few hundreds, but the structural bar, beam or whatever could cost you over a grand.Originally posted by sgboy:Then is it serious?

If both parties choose to acknowledge it as no damage, then so be it. But rather, bring it to a workshop and a mechanic can help you spot the faults and evaluate what needs to be done. Remember, the car's resale value is dependant on its state. -
usually.. if lets say a toyota knock in to a BMW for example.. u will realise that there will be a slight dent in the toyota's bumber.. and not in the BMW bumper.. Both bumpers are off different quality.. But, if you go under 100% inspection, i.e. you use beams to scan the area of knockage, you will see the dent.

bumpers are designed to take some knock undamaged within certain speed. the last i know my old volvo claims under 4km/h.
