No 'countdown display' complimenting traffic lights in sg

Many countries having it but not in sg., what are your thoughts?

Are you refering to the countdown timer for pedestrains?
We do have some of those at certain traffic junctions, usually the major ones. -
I think he refers to the countdown timer to signal when green light going to change to red for cars... even malaysia has them.

The countdown timer is a gd idea but I don't think its necessary to implement.The current features are good enough. -

From wat I know it is still in it's testing stage.
I personally find it more of a bane then a boon. Mhhhh can act as a countdown timer for driving cars..... for ah beng to drive to the other side at the very last seconds.... for the thrill.... Well well this are just some of the scenarios.

i think it's a good thing lei... better in allowing us pace ourselves. no more abrupt last min braking to prevent beating red lights which may ironically create accidents. for those who see there're still just 5 secs left then start to go full gas from 100m out, then i have nothing to say for such people la...

I was at Bugis last week... The countdown timer on the traffic light is still there....

First, I must apologise for not being 'clear' in my initial posting and thanks 'boijon', for being able to read my mind and replied as it should be. Well sometime ago in Batam, I was mentioning this countdown display to a taximan. He mentioned then that he used to see broken car lights on traffic junctions every week but not so lately, not in the last few mths he could remember. Seems that the installation of such display was up years ago. I was impressed and I thought to myself . . . why not in sg?

Frankly speaking, looking at how we singaporean drivers drive, I think got such timer... from far we see left 5 secs, we gonna REV and then SPEED And try to beat the light. Thats a fact and no one can deny our drivers are one of the most impatient and it seems that wait at one red light, they will die one. Having said that, I am one of them lah....so i think better not have such things lah haha

Been in JB for quite a few times ... and what you commented on sg drivers is true ... but i would like to say that ... malaysian drivers does the same things as well ... Hmmmmz, why does no one mention about how drivers might compete moving off for the countdown to green light?
