VIOS VS LANCER GLX VS CITY I-DSI

These 3 car how would u guys rate them accord to speed, performance,reliable, durable, etc. Pricing wise is about the same.. All around 60k.. I am looking for a cheap and ok car.. haha.. no money la..
maybe getting a second hand 1 is a gd idea.. ?

So far i asked around, Lancer got negative feedback on power and durability.

Was targeting lancer too cos cheap and looks ok for young people
Now change to Nissan Sunny, cheap with alot alot of freebies????
Anyway, i am still saving $ 18k for downpayment..... the target so far.....

There shd be a whole new Sunny to replace the minor facelift version introduced last year.
The new Sunny is supposed to be very similar to the new Megane.
They are clearing stocks so can imagine the pricing is low on them.
Between the 3 original cars, I'd go for the VIOS or the City.
Personally prefer the look of the City. -
Yup, heard the 2005 Sunny is based on the Meagane platform. You can go to Nissan Japan website and take a look. It's not under Sunny or Sentra badge but start with a Txxx..anyway looks boxy and looks like Suzuki Liana styling. The look is going to invite critics. Either you love it or hate it.
Present Sunny FC is quite bad, so take note. They are clearing stock and don't be surprised they intro the new Sunny in 2 months time.
Go test drive the Vios and City. Vios has a conservative setup and will perform what you would normally expects. It has disc all round and good pickup. Airbags, power steering all standard but cabin a class lower. The City is packed with some high tech stuff like CVT and Steermatic and of course the ultra seat. Latest City equipped with vtec engine but iSDSI is the one for fuel efficency. Price wise, City is a few thousand more expensive but you get better appointed cabin and a 500 litres boot.
Other cars you can consider is the Jazz (cute and funky), Colt(trendy) and Toyota IST or for the price you are paying for City, you can get a Sonata but its a 2 litre so FC is a major concern here. -
Ic.. but nissan like vv uncle leh..somemore they say waste fuel right.. haha.. though from here quite alot gd feedbacks like made in jap etc.. but i tink city is pretty gd.. somemore i like engine tt save fuel.. SAVE THE PLANET ! save the pocket.. haha..
So getting a manuel is better or auto ?? -

no la... i care abt everything.. haha.. but got no $$$$.. so just do wif wad i can lor.. but then.. so i am jus considering the jap cars.. if got $$$ i will get BMW.. but hard la..
back to realistic.. for city th cheapest now is 61k without ABS and air bag.. can we get ABS and air bag together wif the I-DSI engine?
is there such a deal?? I really would love energy saving engine..
but for performance wise how long it take to reach 100KM for I-DS(MT/auto) ??
and VTEC(MT/auto) is how long??

The earlier batch of iDSI do comes standard with ABS, Dual SRS, EBD. After they introduce the vtec model, they only bring in the basic iDSI model without all these safety features. Guess they want people to go for the vtec model which is higher priced but has everything. You can ask the SE. wah.. then my as well take the 1 wif the VTEC.. but actually i prefer I-DIS to vtec leh.. cos save fuel.. but i would like to noe the performance wise.. the diff.. they don really say in the honda webby.. the best is of course clean exhaust, low fuel consumption and high speed

There is something worth mentioning about GEN2.... Of all the cars that mention above, GEN2 bulb is the Best.... it uses OSRAM and you can see the "Made in Germany". Whereas others might be made in japan or even other place....
OSRAM bulb is more electric saving and produce less heat but more powerful and bright and more long lasting... hahaha... -

hi there,
im a lancer driver now and im currently driving the 1.6 GLX sports version of the lancer..
first thing is..i like the ignition sound..it sounds so like a car with turbo..lolz..!!
second, the full sports kit is nice..and my car's colour is black so does the interior..i always call my lancer a bat mobil..lol..
acceleration wise is ok..but 0-100 is kinda slow to me but after the needle past 100 it could go up very easily..dunno why...
turning wise...the steering wheel has a bit of resistant as it still uses power steering oil not like corolla which is electronically controlled..
other than the above..the FC is dependent on the driver's habbit of driving..if you tend to rev more your FC will be quite poor..like wise if you drive at normal speed..12-13km/l is not a problem..
clutch wise, all my friends who test drive my lancer all say the same thing..its soft and changing of gears is very smooth and steady..
the looks of it is definitely better than vios and city...its more sleek and suitable for youngsters...besides the lancer could be fine tuned too..
and lastly i drove a manual lancer..

Proton can always make a powerful and stronger car with the help of Lotus..... but the problem is that they are not willing to do that.....
1. Not to spoil their own market..... if they introduce real good and powerful car.... then they will always end up compete with the other Jap cars and wasted $$$ and went bankrupt like Nissan and Mitsubishi do.
2. Cost wise.... in Malaysia, ppl go for cheap and that can guarantee the survival for Proton without high quality cars. It makes no sense to produce cars with Lexus of BMW quality where the market is not big and no one buy.... just like most of the sports car manufacturer that has went bankrupt. -

The vehicles were provided for testing by car manufacturers led by Toyota Motor Philippines, Honda Cars Philippines, Mitsubishi Motors Philippines, Columbian Autocar Corporation, Nissan Motor Philippines, Universal Motors Corporation, BMW Philippines Corporation, Viking Cars, and Isuzu Philippines Corporation. The run was sponsored by Total (Philippines) Corporation.
The 60-car convoy traveled a total distance of 170 kilometers from the DOE Center in Taguig to Lipa City in Batangas—and then back to the starting point—at an average speed of 60 kilometer per hour with the maximum speed set at 80 kph. All the vehicles had their air-conditioning system, headlights and hazard lights on.
Energy Secretary Vincent S. Perez said that among the 60 vehicles, the Vios and the Crosswind proved to be the most fuel-efficient as both consumed a total of only 7.574 liters of gasoline and 8.683 liters of diesel, respectively. That translates to an impressive mileage of 22.44 kilometers to a liter of gasoline for the Vios and 19.58 kilometers to a liter of diesel for the Crosswind. -
hey, then wad abt the Honda city.. i thought they say alot abt their FC is very gd etc.. if VIOS fc is better.. i confirm take vios liao.. somemore cheaper.. better performance also.. got better safetly features.. but they the toyota salesman vv yaya ? got discount 1 anot har?? wad freebies is given???

well..we cant deny the fact that proton is still more expensive..even though they wanted to make it more appealing to consumers...
and how come no one likes lancer??..-__-
