I tot of getting either a new Mitsubishi Lancer 1.6 (A/T) or Honda City iDSI 1.5(A/)
Can you guys advise on the following :
1) Fuel consumption (km/litre)
2) Performance
3) Durability

for lancer, the damage is better, about 12-14km.
i'm driving the sports lancer, my mileage is about 15-16km/litre

The 9 to 10Km/l is already a known fact, the Impreza excels in ride and handling, and european feel and safety standards. Ask ur bro how much he loves his car, apart from the fuel consumption. Every car, have its own forte and shortcomings. If one is only concern about fuel economy, the Altis still beats the Lancer, it has a better interior, better straight line performance, and proven reliability.
The Impreza AWD can corners hard at around 100Km/h in 3rd gear, try doing that in a Lancer
Basically, Mitsubishi only got three great cars in their range at this moment, namely the Evo, Grandis and Colt. They will be the savior to Mitsubishi. If Lancer is so good, it will not cause them to run into financial difficulties. -

Dude i drive a lancer. i must say that the engine is pretty rough. Honda is not worth the money. Its smaller and the design sucks. I wouldnt go for the mazda 3 either. Mazda is just like apple computer now. Selling by design and packaging rather than quality. My dad used to drive a mazda that had super lots of problems so now we boycott mazda. Both mazda3 and Subaru TS are prized higher and guzzles fuel, although i'm not so sure whether they can TURN CORNERS AT 3rd GEAR.

If we're looking at 1.5 to 1.6 litre Japanses sedan cars, it is inevitable that the TS and M3 will pop up in discussion. However, it appears that price and FC are the main concerns, so you're really looking at Lancer, Sunny, Vios and City. Hmm, its either Lancer or City for me too...

My colleague drives a TS Auto, he's a family man, he fetches his wife and kids to work and school respectively everyday. I once ask him what he likes about his car, he praises that the TS's suspension is the best he tested so far.
Verdict: Everyone appreciates a particular car model for a particular reason, preferences can be subjective and one can even be biased. As long as, at the end of the day, they enjoys what they drive. That is most important. -

I believe both are good cars. Personally drove City B4, feeling very spacious. Engine sounds very smooth while on road.
FC might not be the only factor that put off ppl in buying 'that' car. Driving style is one factor that determines which car you should buy.
Different ppl different view and that result in dilemma. Go ahead and test drive both of the cars! and decide which one you really one. -

ps: Even Tommi Makinen hated the Lancer, and migrated to Impreza. His newly opened TMR (Tommi Makinen Rally) School uses only Imprezas. -
Its not my concern anyway but everyone has their own comments and views on different objects. Maybe what we should do is to take other people views with open heart and learn abt it, not to condemn and criticise. Comments can go all the way round and roudn till the cow comes home but you'll never be able to reach a conclusion.
Personally don't own a lancer but a friend do. The verdict is as belows.
Fuel consumption- Auto, average 10km-11lm/l
Performance - Decent for a salon, but definitely not great
Durability- Be rest assured that its a proven car.
Conclusion:- At this market, its one of the value for money car in the market.
