I was browsing through Sg-carmart looking at some civics hwn I noticed the pricing
Exactly how do I calculate the total price of the car?
**Example**
listed price 35K (what does this mean?)
COE is 25K
OMV is 20K
Is the actual price 35K? or do I add the COE price to 35K? or do I add the OMV and COE together? Does this mean im payin in excess of 50K to buy a 10yr old civic? ThatÂ’s friggin EX! Can buy new car liao?
Can someone pls verify this?
Let see, 35K is the listed price for the car. That means the Max is 35K to buy the car outright.
COE is 25K, that is 10 years old COE. If currently the car is 11years old, that means the COE on market value is 22.5k(minus 2.5k per year)
OMV*80%(The exact number can be obtain via LTA website) means the "scrap value" of the car, but since it is a 10year old car, there is no scrap value anymore. But this is the cost they(Vendor) have to forgo to renew the 10yrs COE.
Technically for 10yr old(COE CAR), the value is only the COE(pro rated) plus 1-2K if you sent it to the scrap yard as of date. Practically the vendor will sell you pro rate COE + the OMV(Pro Rate).
Hope this information help..
