Is it me? Or do you all Experience This "Thing"Before

Around 3 years ago, was in Malaysia , Johor , around Mersing? or somewhere was travelling around to look for good deals and bargains..
I was sitting around in my father's Toyota car , out of a sudden , hiding in the forest , a police car came out and chased my dad's car..
it was a very small road around there and it WAS impossible to go speeding ,
i personally was sitting beside my dad and when the police car came....
He told us that our car was speeding..where-else..i was looking at the
speed-dometer and i swear !! Our speed was definitely less then the speed he said we was speeding at..really we were cruising slowly cause we were admiring the scenery
I was frustrated and wanted to argue with the "cop"..After that , my dad says..
"NO, don't" , so i stopped..
My dad told me.."Pass me 50 singapore dollars.." since i brought some cash with me along, i passed it to him, and gradually followed the police man into a small wooden hut..
After that my dad came out..and drive on..smoothly like nothing happened..
I asked him what happened to my $$ .....he declined to reveal...
After that , i found out the truth...Am i the only one who experienced it here? -
Fifty Singapore?
I think it's only you... everyone else only paying fifty Ringgit

and 1 reason..why wasn't my dad given a receipt or any solid proof?
like in Singapore..we got speeding camera taking picture..
Those "cops" don't hab..those equipment..based on reasoning they say we speeding..
1 of those "Cops" told my dad

Almost all traffic policeman in malaysia are like that.. when they have no $, they will come out and earn extra income by squeezing $ from singaporeans cars. -
haha i have similar experience but more heng than you...
my dad had stopped & planned an illegal u-turn somewhere near holiday plaza there. however we saw the m'sian tp (car) opposite stopping by so my dad continued moving...
but somehow the tp started tailing us, but we just acted blur continued moving. dunno why my dad anyhow circled & circled then ended up in some private housing estate haha damn dark & deserted, with the tp's high beams shining brightly from behind...
then i forgot if my dad stopped the car or the tp overtook us, it stayed beside us for awhile, then just drove off... we speculated they see us many people inside so din dare to play with us haha...
btw, that was my dad's ex-car, just a modest civic... they really desperate... -
my uncle who was malaysian, doesn't even stop.. he just waves a RM50 note in the air, crumples it and drops it, letting it fall on the roadside..
they stop to pick it up and stops following him -

A formal speeding ticket is:
(Ur current speed - speed limit - 10) x 10 Ringgit
Example:
The speed u were travelling at: 131kmh
Speed limit: 110 kmh
(131 - 110 - 10) x 10 Ringgit = 110 Ringgit
And yes, there's a receipt. Else its all kopi money.
How I know? Cos I kanna a formal receipt before.......

I had this experience b4, my whole family were in e car n my dad was driving, than suddenly c in front gt a police rd block. We were told to pull to e side of e rd. We could c other Singapore cars by e side too. E policeman told us we were speeding n said that e fine would b M$150 (forgot e actual amount) if being paid at e police station n given a receipt. But if u wan to pay on e spot, no receipt given will only b M$50.
So my dad agreed. Just imagine e trouble having to go to e police station to pay, n pay much more smemore! So e policeman just told my dad to get back into e car, n he happily opened e summon booklet to e middle pages, where my dad inserted e M$50 into his booklet n after that he closed e summon booklet n said thank U b4 waving us to go.
Can u imagine hw much extra (coffee) money they could collect in a day fm every car M$50?? -
Beware when Malay holidays season are coming...... Traffic Police.... JPJ aka LTA guys will also hunt for $$$ to celebrate enhance their "ang pow" for their Hari Raya and New Years....
Even lots of Malaysian motorist also get it.... -

was being stopped by a TP just outside Holiday plaza .... pay him RM30 ... no problem liao ...
Another time ... no choice ... kana stopped at custom ... for not paying fine for 2 years ... but surprisingly ... the fine din increase at all ... so pay SGD70 at AXS and got the OFFICIAL RECEIPT ...
After that no problem crossing the causeway at all ... maybe they see my passport also scare ..... hahaha one week go in three to five times ... -

Not really lah. I didn't pay to the guy on the spot. I had to make my way down to the TP station to pay. They gave me a formal printed receipt that more or less settle everything. Let me go and dig for it. -
Typically Malaysian will pay 30RM whereas Singaporean have to pay 50RM.
When you drive flashy car or branded car, your chances of gettting booked in My is even higher. The Pol*#$ knows that you can afford it.
So far, 3 years in/out of Malaysia also no kena before...touch wood....maybe see my lao bob car not worth anything, so no book me....

encountered twice on the highway
once was driving my friend's honda accord, two young guys in a big car, spells money to them.
2nd time was driving my ex's proton, with a probationary plate, her sis was on probation, spells easy and newbie target to them.
on both occasions, they said i was going at 121km/h (seems to be their fav. no)
and on both occassions, i argued with them, threatening to pay the RM10 for the photo and if there is no photo, i want his badge number. well, i guess this worked, cause i really wasn't speeding and i'm a local (plus speak malay)
one of them got very pissed me with cause he knew he wasn't gonna get me to pay. he asked me tom watch my mouth. well, i admit i was kinda rude, BUT i was pissed!! i didn't speed and got stopped for nothing knn ...
and of coz, singaporean car automatically spells money to them, no matter what car u drive. moreover, admit it ..... most singaporeans speed as soon as they leave singaporean soil. it's so tempting

Next month 12/11/04, i driving to malacca leh.. hopefully dont kenan those MTP(malaysia Traffic Police).
Think the chance of meeting them are very high...whether go slow or not, they still want $. Heart-pain........... -

Festive season, very likely to kena. Unless u go during odds hours- evening or early morning. Don't ask me go what time, or else everybody chiong same time and the MTP know the trend and kena abmush...me dun wan to donate.... -

1)Don't speed.
2)Becareful of bridges.
3)When the local car slow down, you slow down.
4)Watch out of car flashes running opposite your direction.
5)When in doubt slow down.
6) If kena, die die pay only 50RM max. Take down their name and location of incident.
7) Don't show off. -
Have anyone of u travel to thailand by Bus? 2 yr ago,my family travel to thailand by bus to changmai,so we have to pass the border between malaysia and thailand which are bery ulu place....halfway...the bus stop..and i can't imagine what is stopping us...A Two Truck of thai army and a tank stopped our bus...than they demanded to serach our bus...and took darn long...just plain wasting our time...we have a tour guide with us which is a singaporean...and he could speak thai of coz..the officer was telling him..every person in the bus has to pay 150batt to them..and so we LL just pay them..the bus contain i guess a total of 20 person...so guess how much they earn man..after that incident ...we never think of taking bus to thailand anymore..
