both are about the same price, but the current model of civic has been around for a number of years... dunno when the new model is coming out... prob soon right? wouldn't the price drop significantly after that?

Get a Civic 1.7 with full body kit, it look great.........
Or if you are comparing both 1.6 model, I'll still go for the Civic. It got a smoother engine but FC should not be able to beat the Altis. -
Civic 1.6 VTi performance is almost same as Altis 1.6 VVT at 81kw
Civic 1.7 VTi-s is 96kw some 4(5.5hp)kw lesser than altis 1.8 VVT 100kw.
Torgue wise Altis 1.8 beats Civic 1.7 by 16Nm at 171Nm to 155Nm
Performance wise its roughly the same although Altis 1.8 is much more heavy than Civic 1.7 but Altis has more torgue to pull it from standstill. -
so if comparing the 1.6 civic with the 1.6 altis, it doesn't matter which i get?

depends on which type you wanna get for yourself,civic will be more 'tiong' type...and altis will be more to those saloon car type...
if i were to say,civic will be better..cuz im 'tiong' type...

it is highly unlikely the inspection ppl will find out unless they check the engine no -

my vote goes to Altis ... never underestimate a VVT-I engine ah ... u will never believe wad can a G9 1.6 manual corolla can do to a SiR .....

just found out that the new civic will be out approx early 2006... which means if i buy now, i'll only be able to drive it for 1 year at most before the new model comes out... sian leh...
