bcos auto gear is constructed differently from manual. Is not meant to be like manual gear where u can put to N.
So everything u pass thru the 'N' gear, that is where the wear and tear the most. Hence, if u do it at every traffic stop, imagine how many stops are there in a day, then u multiply by 365 to be a year, the auto gear may spoilt very much earlier.
Is not cheap to change an auto gear.
On the other hand, there are people aruge that most cars are designed to last 10 years and since most owner will sell their car within 3 to 7 years, so the auto gear should be ok within YOUR time frame when you own it.
Makes u think twice about getting 2nd hand auto car right?
