poor kid like me, still clinging on to a 2 years old mazda 323... feel so much like changing cos it looks soooooooooooooo boring!!! handling is ok, safe and comfy but, borrrrrrrriiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnggggggggggg!!!!!!!
have to hang on to it till end of next year (that's ONE more year) before i can even think about selling it off, cos of the supposedly 3years breakeven thingy. as i've said, poor kid like me...

have to wonder though, WHAT can make you feel so attached to your car? other than the loan, of cos... -

Waiting for 1 more year may not be such a bad idea. At least you'll see how COE prices pan out. -
a poor kid doesn't have money to afford a car.

Really poor thing... I only have my 2 cars to depend on... I call them my left and right legs... I can't even afford to buy a 2nd hand car...
Since you don't like the car, then y not let me drive it till next year when you break even? At least like that you can experience what so many others have, those that have a license but no car... And I can experience what a POOR kid you are....

Even if i were to strik 10million new yr TOTO but can only have one car, i would keep my 21 yr old lousy car than buy a new one.
In case you are interested, my other considerations for the future are the toyota altezza and the silva S15.

S15 are also miracle...... Altezza are good but it lack the pure breed taste compare to that 2.
AE86 and S15 are made with the mindset of enthusiasm buy the engineers and designer.
Whereas altezza is good but is a bit more commercialised now.... All Jap cars does that now in order to survive....

Boring a mazda 323? .. be contented that you have a car that gets you from point A to B ... if you find it borring then do it up lah .... i seen mazda 323 smoked Evo's before ... never underestimate your own car man .. (of course the 323 got some handy job under its hood lah)

maybe u could xtreme makeover ur car like giving it a new paint job, modifying the engine abit here n there, change the interior, rims, or etc.. it may feel as good as new

i've plans to upsize the rims, but heard it'll affect FC...
but seriously, i've never seen a mazda323 looks nice with ANYTHING. i only know it looks real UGLY with a spoiler.
the only one i saw that looks nice with a spoiler is a black 323. but mine's a silver one.
seriously, if i actually do things to the engine to give it a extra horsepower, how will it affect it? will there be problems selling ot off later? -

New suspension, brakes and steel braided hose... Well, here are some suggestions. You mentioned that you are driving a 2 yr old car which u think is horrible..Since its pretty new, why the sudden change of mindset? I mean you couldnt have felt it was horrible and bought it two years ago right?
Well lets say it was a mistake. On choosing your next car, do a through research before deciding on one. Best if you can find a friend who can let you test drive it or go down to the show room to test drive it.
When test driving the showroom car, DO NOT be modest. It is not a test drive car for nothing. just whack it hard to find out its maximum performance and see if it suits you well. what i mean in suiting you well are not the power figures but the how well the car balances and handles the power that its engines curns out. You will love your car when you know you are able to control it accurately and precisely. almost like when car and driver is one. haha.
On your current car, minor mods should be no problem when it comes to selling car. For example, Cold Air Intake, Bigger rims etc.
Bigger wheels are said to worsen your FC as the tire is now broader and has more contact point with the road, thus giving rise to added friction. You engine has to burn petrol to over come this extra friction. However, pple do feel that a right sized rim will improe handling of the car.
For mods that are illegal, not only will you have problems selling them but it would be difficult to pass inspection of the car. An example would be adding a turbo to your car.
However, the easy solution would be to remove illegal mods before selling the car and hope that the inspection pple like to drink coffee cos you will be paying them coffee money.

btw, i bought te car back then was because i really wanted to get a car then.... found a SE who happened to be my friend in the army, then everything went so well that i just bought it.
