I was there for her mini sch concert on last wed. I find what she said abt hall life quite true... staying in the hall is not all abt earning points..its more abt getting to knoe more pple...learning more new things...its something u will remember after u grad from ntu... i was quite inspired by her that i volunteered to join some of my hall's activities straight after that..hehe
any comments?

That has always been the crux of the issue...unfortunately, becoz of the point system, ppl desperate to stay in hall have resorted to numerous means (some of them unscrupulous) to garner the required points to stay. Points then become the key thing and ppl join ecas for points and nothing else.
Well, with new halls coming up and inside info that the GCP this year is 80 points, that may thankfully all come to an end. -
yeh true....but 80pts still quite abit...
i only got a fraction of it...8pts.

ya but u know? i think for some its a viscious circle lahz....
u join hall activities to haf fun,
then u realise you ARE havin lotsa fun,
so you cant bear to NOT stay on,
then you join more so to earn more points in order to haf more fun,
then hundreds of others do the same,
and THEN it results in competiton for hall accomodation,
and THEN, you start to work harder for points..
and before u realise it u are struggling half the time coping........

the less u worry abt points the less wrinkles u have...after all second or third rounds aren't that difficult any more

I thought there are more hostels being built for NTU people nowadays?
At certain periods, SAO have to "plea" students to apply for halls through NTU mass email(even those without enough points can opt).

NTU is pretty clean...and too brightly lit. Some more the hall offices have been clamping down on "extra" occupant cases recently. Large numbers of evictions have apparently served as sufficient warning to most hostelites not to engage in erotic midnite activities since...
