hmmz... i'm a girl.. waiting for my a's results... and now in great dilemma in whether to choose btw erm... well, guess this is kinda cliche.. but a choice btw NTU and NUS.. hmmz.. tho it's kinda ridiculous to come in here and expect u guys to answer to this kinda ridiculous ques of mine.... but i feel if there's any chance tat anione will reply, i won't gif up... esp when the choice will decide mi fate for the next three yrs there...
i knoe it's more of how my results are and my interest.. to b honest, i'm seriously dying to go into mass comm ( which is only offered in NTU )... not for the status of it but for interest sake... but wif my gp results, guess it's almost zilch chance i can make it there... apart from tat course, i'm reallie not sure of where to go, let alone the courses...
if there's any kind soul out there tat can tell mi hwo u feel about your school and possibly any recommendation, it'll b greatly appreciated.. thanx~!!!

wat subjects r u taking?
no matter wat...just try to get into mass comm lor...if cannot...then u have to consider other choices...no use goin to somewhere where u have zero interest...
if mass comm fails...u have to find something which u have to have at least a LITTLE bit of interest lor...anot u be like mi...stuck in NTU...studying for the sake of studying...but i guess there r quite a number of pple like mi lor...it just depends on how u view the situation...mi no interest in any subjects offered in NUS n NTU but chose NTU coz the competition here not so cut throat => think i din help much...hahaha...u still got quite some time to think...use tis think to weighs every pros n cons lor => -

hi...no NTU is not that bad...ppl here are actually quite nice. Then again, when u are choosing between courses like Engineering, u do have a dilemma between NUS, NTU and in the case of business, SMU. The only courses available in NTU which are unique are 1) Accountancy, 2)Comm Studies the rest are pretty much a choice between choices.
Keep in mind that if u wanna do business, then know that after the first year NTU offers specialisations in IT, Financial Analysis and Banking, Actural Science, Economics, Marketing. While NUS offers business administration, which consists of a mixture of subject combinations covering most of the above courses, it produces wat u call "a jack of all trades but a master of none". That is food for thought.
In addition to the basic engineering courses, NUS offers Chemical. Dun worrie about ur grades...most of the time, u get into the course u want (unless u set too high expectations and waste ur choices...)btw, i was refering to entering NTU...not NUS...
Comm studies is pretty much exciting, u go through a four year course with an attachment during the final year first semester...
besides that, all i can offer is - join ur interest, not the market demand of jobs out there...coz u will only make ur life ultimately miserable...good luck in ur selection! -

but just sianz lor...study for the sake of studying...coz i got no interest in ANY coz offered in spore n abroad...ahhaaha...think ntu system more slack lor...then the pple here more stupid than nus (overall la)

Huh? easy to score in NTU? ha! u got rocks in ur head man sunnyday.....the papers here are much tougher than NUS as a whole...not only that, NUS has a grading system that rewards students with grades from a range of A+ to A to A-...hence, u find that students over there are more likely to get "better grades" than us who only have straight-forward A, B, C grades
No, the format of the papers in NUS are also custom-made to help the students for example, in first year electric circuits, the NUS students need only to form the basic loop analysis equation and then put it in matric form to get the full marks. In NTU, students have to actually solve the tedious and usually irritating simultaneous eqns and get a numerical solution before they are awarded the due credit and this portion of solving is where ppl make the most errors...not to mention time consuming in an exam too!
Now is NUS students really much better than us? i suppose if u look at the statistics, the stereotyping in selecting vasities and the professional degrees offered in NUS...then YES...they are "better" than us. However, that is all. Technically speaking, an NTU student vs an NUS student in comparative courses will be on par in terms of knowledge, give or take.
so being an NTU student, do try not to downplay our strengths just yet...unless with all that u've said, u are still breezing through with straight As...then well, i've got nothin' to say. *snigger* -
*sighz* gotten my results laioz.. and like what i predict, i din manage to perform in GP... don't think can get into mass comm in NTU liaoz.. do you know devastating that have been as mass comm was the only course ever on my mind... but who can i blame but myself...

came here to be less stressed? then u came to the right place man...at least in terms of student competition..ntu is much more even across the floor.
anyway..as to those ADs u mentioned...mostly scholars get them (as they well should) but the method of studying now is different...i find myself studying less and less...hmm..interesting..
btw, if u're wondering how ppl with 30 marks can pass...coz the batch of students are subject to this thing called the bell curve...so a lot of ppl got 30 marks..hence they all passed...too bad for those who scored 29... -

yep...guess u r right...but with their wider grade distribution, it's also easier to get a "better" grade in that sense...haha..now just left the two of us ...macham like a icq session sia...hehe
