Dear
MoodyBluz & BillyBong,
Indeed, the public feedback in Forums may not be useful sometimes and actions are needed to turn around & amend a organisation's unpopular decisions. However, it may be useful in some cases to voice out certain "genuine concerns".
If there is something that needs public opinions, we can try to comment what should be done or how both parties can come to a compromise.
A recent example: Look how the "Chek Jawa" reclamation case was resolved (see
footer*):
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/habitatnews/message/155Everybody likes to be in a "win-win" situation. Just like the difficult issue revolving Singapore & her neighbours we learn how to resolve it quick by gathering feeback & consulting the other party.

The judge was not interested to fight her case initially but because of the widow's "continuous complaining" to him that he finally decided to ensure that justice was given to her...in order that the widow will not bother him again..." [Luke 18:1-6](An illustration from Jesus on praying hard and NOT to give up at all times.)
Jesus' sermon on the mount says that:"Be quick to settle with the one complaining against you at law while on the way to the judge, so that he may not turn you over to the court..." [Matthew 5:25]* FooterExcerpts from The Habitat Group's Nature mailing list on 14th January 2001:
"The reclamation works at Chek Jawa was originally scheduled to begin in Dec 2001. Since the middle of 2001, nature groups and individuals with special interest in Chek Jawa have highlighted the rich biodiversity of the area and provided insightful feedback.
9 The decision not to reclaim Pulau Ubin at the moment has been made only after we have weighed the trade-offs and carefully considered the land use implications. This episode is a positive example of consultation and collaboration between the Ministry and the stakeholders which has resulted in a win-win situation. The Government will continue to take a balanced and pragmatic approach to land use planning..."------------------
Yours Sincerely,
Alan Chow
