Bloody NTU dialup

Is anyone here using the dialup too. The speed seems to be deteriorating fast. Loading a page takes ages. File transfer through ftp or file-sharing programs get me speeds of less than 1 kB/s. And I can't download with winmx at all. The only thing that works with NTU's dialup is downloading directly through microsoft's explorer or using getright (which gives me speeds of 5kB/s most of the time when I'm downloading from good servers).
What's with the discrepancies? What did they do do the dialup service so that you get good d/l speeds using certain methods and not the others.
I've tried both the toll free and non-toll free numbers and both are equally horrendous. -
then they also block everything. Kazaa, blubster and now even icq also want to block. What next? MSN?
