I've heard rumours that the notebooks that you get at local universities at lower prices do not actually have the same parts(brands) as the ones you buy outside, even though it is touted as the same model...
Can anyone confirm this? Any bad experience with these cheaper notebooks?
Thanks.
Pier.
dun waste time with notebooks.
as upgrades come, notebooks are abt as bad as there is. If u bought a P4 notebook with a 20GB harddrive, 128MB, etc etc, u'll find that in less than a year, it has become a dinosaur.
unless u're really in need of giving massive presentations, stick to DIY desktops babies..
Uhhh.... this is going a bit out of point.

hmmm well, not to my knowledge. I bought a digitek notebook from 8 flags (yeah i know digitek closed down damnit!) and i've inquired abt the other models available, namely toshiba, dell, acer, IBM, compaq etc
all seem to be genuine parts from authorised distributors. Price range is generally the same as outside with a small fluctuation of 100-200 bucks...
hope that helps!
