It includes the Next station, If you see any suspicious... Going to Johor Bahru..The system will pick up the codes that are transmitted from the tracks and thus, you will hear the Next station, Choa Chu Kang Interchange...
Before ATAS was introduce... TOs manually announce the next station names..
2) The other chime that you heard, right after the Ding Dong, Doors are Closing.. ting tong.. ting tong... then the doors will be closed, is called the Dwell time... That chime is the original factory fitted door chime..
Train officers will extend the train "dwell time", by manually putting on the original "ding-dong" chimes onto the P.A. system, to allow more passengers (ignorant of the door-closing chime) ...who still rush into the trains.
Wow, thank you very much for the detailed info. :D

TOs based on those CCTV to close the door right? There's a LCD screen inside the cabin right?

Yes, they used the CCTV screen that will connect to the on platform CCTV camera to determine if it's safe to close the doors. At sometimes when view is obstructed, TOs may come out from their driving cab and look if it's safe. Most of the time they will make use of the CCTV in their cab..
How do they connect to the CCTV cameras that are found at the platform? Notice this, white/grayish flat panel thing... That thing will determine the train CSP, and connects itself with the CCTV in the cab, so that drivers can view the station surroundings and also they can open the doors.

No wonder, that time I saw TO's head out looking at the doors. Then the doors closed.

Okay i see.. But i notice that Bishan Station,. the LCD screen is fitted at the station, anyone know?
Anyway, do the train door have any sensor, that obstacles is blocking and the door will not close or it open again?

Yes, train door has a sensor. Notice that on both extreme (HW and TW), there is a green light (Typically seen on underground station / station with 1.5 m PSDs). (So there are 4 green lights on each such station)
When the doors are closed (Both train door and PSDs, regardless 1.5m or full), the green light is on, or else (When any of the door remains opened), the light will be turned off. When this is the case, the train cant move.
So to those stations without 1.5m PSD, I am sure that the TO cabin can see if all doors are closed with some indicators. (Your private car or public bus / taxi got sensor / indicator that states if the doors are fully closed. However, even if they are not close, your car can move but not in MRT) Hence, when any of the doors / PSDs are not closed, it means that there are obstacles and the door will open after sometime. (Mr Yeow Cheow Tong, the then Transport Minister did a demo using his hands as obstacle to closing doors of NEL)
PS: Unless your bag "remainder" or anything that is too slim, it will open back the door.
If doors are not close properly, they won't be able to move!
Why? Cause the system needs all doors to be closed before the train can proceed off. SO that it will be able to transmit and receiver the signals emitted.

How does the station play annoucement. Is it auto or need someone to press?
Originally posted by Scania96:How does the station play annoucement. Is it auto or need someone to press?
Must be automatic..
Announcements like, For your own safety.. All those should be triggered by the train.. But for announcements like, The train at Platform A is not for boarding.. I guess that should be manually pressed.. Most announcements I guess are triggered by trains..
Will be back to you soon...
Thanks.

If I'm not mistaken, it's auto. I remembered an incident when I was enquiring about Bishan Depot Tour and when I asked the CSO at the counter, he asked me to follow him back to the platform to wait for the announcement so that he can hear it.
And if I can remember it correctly again from the tour, they use the same system as the ones on board the train, just that the ones on the train counts by distance while this one counts by distance (for those stand behind the yellow line and please mind the platform gap announcements) and time for the random ones.
Oh cool. Then why changi airport station like never play annoucement. Only can hear the chime but cannot hear the rest and how come the CCL station dont have the lift annoucement?

You sure? At Bugis Station no announcement at all. When trains came won't announce "Please mind the platform gap"
