What is the purpose of having a time limit on travel time?

You mean NSL and EWL?
I have a Questions:
1) How does the NEL last train terminating at HarbourFront when the train move off? Don't tell me train went back to SKD.
2) How did the "Suspicious looking person" (english, mandarin, malay, tamil) announcement in CCL when CCL1 and CCL2 open?
To BiminiRosy: Yes, and all lines
To Din89: I suppose test trains are used to test if trains have any problems.

I know, but how the announcement? Same with NSL and EWL?
There was once i heard the eating an drinking annoucement in the train.
It is to remind passengers that eating or drinking is prohibited on stations and trains.
I mean i hear it in a CCL train which is rare.

It is for after mantainancing , to check if everything is ready. Cannot just put it on service after mantianance. Not for new TOs , new TOs use a simulator to drive a train.

Why sometimes the driver (C830) not do anything (standing at the front), the train will auto move?

The C830 is a driver-less train......

Then why the driver standing or 'just in case' if incident or train stop, that person will help?

If the train breakdown, the staffs that you see will be the one operating the train in CM mode..
They are just on standby incase something happens to the train, which requires the train to be driven manually.

I think the reason for transit system to impose time limit is to deter people who kpoing the system. After, long travel time defeat the purpose of the transit system being a fast and efficient system.
What is IIRC??

IIRC yes, heard the ""Suspicious looking person" announcement before.
In CCL, example from Lorong Chuan to Serangoon?
