No, 2011 based on wikipedia article, but no reliable source, most likely by 2015, the whole C651 fleet will be refurbished.

Most likely C651s will be refurbished in year 2014 since it hits 20 years old of service during that year, and C751Bs during 2020.
Assuming C151As replace C151s, they will be taken off service on year 2026, or they might want to re-refurbish it during that year.
Just estimations, don't take it too seriously.

I hope they don't replace the C151s because they're my fav trains.

btw how can the Siemens replace with Kawasaki?

The refurbished C651s will not look like the new C151A trains, since C151A the head is also streamlined, like the C751Bs.
i know this is off topic, but can i have all Facebook accounts cause im adding friends!(trainspotters and enthusiasts only)

i mean they just change the body colour of the c651 to look like c151A. Just like what happen to the refurbished c151=)

Wrong! SMRT did mentioned 2010 for C651 refurbishment. However, that is the minimum year they would ever consider a refurbishment on C651.
So now, I think they might just started to research on C651's problem and may come out details of the refurbishment on 2012 and getting contractors to refurb the trains by 2013 (Just like C151 refurbishment is done by Hyundai Rotem and not SMRT) and the start of refurbishment commence at somewhere in 2014 (19 years after use) to 2015, just like what Willis mentioned.

So when does the C651s refurbishment just like C151?

WHAT THE **** are you talking about?
C151A is manufactured by a China Railway company and project is monitored / oversees by Kawasaki.
PS: I dont really think that C151A can replace C151, given the fact the amount of C151A trains is similar to C651 and C151 got 66 trains which is way too massive, and thus the C151A might just replace C651. If not, they have to manufacture more such trains later.
Or maybe, like what Willis said, another refurbishment will be made on C151s.

According to Kawac151's reply, he meant that he does not wished to see C151A train to replace the C151. C151A train is totally different from C151 train, this is not a new "refurbed" train. Totally unrelated to C651.

The C151A body colour WILL look like C751Bs and refurbished C151, not the ugly-looking-contrast-is-weird colour livery.

How do you know?

Common sense. Why would SMRT want to waste time trying to get a new livery and paste it over to the current trains, the reason why they wanted them to be black so as to save cleaning costs, since the white one gets dirty easily.

I see, then where did u find the source on C151A head is also streamlined, which is similar to C751B.

The picture that is shown to all. Since the C151 followed the C751B closely, of course the Kawasaki C751 is the confirmed design.

Just like the unrefurbished C151s last time.
Btw if the C651s get refurbished, will it look like the colour scheme of the C751Bs because I hope not because I don't want to confuse a C651 for a C151 since those two looked almost like each other when the c151s were unrefurbished.

They will only be similar, if you want to identify them, tons of ways are there, like trainset number, TRN Number (The Flip Dot Display), "Bumper", Motor sounds and some other minor stuffs.
I identify them thru motor sounds. i prefer the C151 sounds to the c651.
