CC should be control centreOriginally posted by VODKA KE0601:Notices at Jurong East Station, middle platform, reads...
"Please Inform CC Immediately If You Notice Any Soil Movement Near TC #NW499 (Between BGB1 To BBT1)."
Meaning in layman's English would be...??? I assumed TC = Train Crossing, NW499 = NorthWest 499, not sure 'bout the entire statement though.
Here may be the answer of this:Originally posted by SBS9889U:CC should be control centre
BGB = Bt Gombak?
BBT = Bt Batok?
so it should be please tell the Control Centre immediately if you see any soil movement near the NW499 crossing located between Bt Gombak and Bukit Batok?
1) not exactly sure but definitely cheaper (inflation rates and blah blah)Originally posted by Donavan:1) Exactly how much does a Siemens Train cost as compared to a Kawasaki 3rd generation train? What about the cost of a Kawasaki 1st generation train?
2) Were the Kawasaki 3rd generation trains modified to actually have a larger standing area? What about the NEL Alstom trains?
3) How many spare trains are there for the NSL, EWL and NEL respectively?
4) Which depot controls which NSL or EWL train?
yes, BGB and BBT are acronyms of the stations... all MRT stations have 3 letter acronyms... SMRT ones can be seen at the front and back of the station, where there's a large 'tag'Originally posted by SBS9889U:CC should be control centre
BGB = Bt Gombak?
BBT = Bt Batok?
cos most track maintenance slowdowns do not last more than 2 days from my observations, but this is likely to take up to 2 weeks.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:anyway how come suddenly there's a report on slowing down?
its quite common what... for track maintainence...
The news reported that it's due to soil erosion. My train passed by Bt Gombak and Bt Batok Stations just now. The train was travelling very very slowly. So slow that there's almost no noise from the train engines/brakes when they enter/leave the stations and when travelling along that stretch. Lots of accelerations and brakings to maintain the train at the slow speed.Originally posted by VODKA KE0601:Notices at Jurong East Station, middle platform, reads...

Morning Sv966 has always been very crowded no matter got extension or not but PM Peak with the extension it seemed to be much more crowded.Originally posted by sinicker:erm.. today drive down PIE ard 6.40am and 5.45pm...
i notice...
has S966 always been this packed or since the extension it's like this?
Its a sticker pasted underneath a seat( Those two corner seats) of forgot which carriage, either 3351 or 3352 or 3337 or 3338, however i belief almost all trains will have this.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:means when there's a breakdown train that cant move, they deploy another train to push/pull the disabled train off the service lines to depot...
thus there's 12 cars in total... the rescue train has to be coupled to the disabled either at front or back depending on push or pull-out, and release brakes so the the tow can be started? sounds kinda straightforward...
where u saw this?
Man does makes errors bahOriginally posted by SMRT 32373238:haha sounds like the train operator need THAT many reminders??
