It's an insider info, it's not found out via the depot tour.
anyone knows why are there random ladders lying about in the tunnels of CCL?

He is angry with me cause he say when we see the vpis blink, we cannot go inside the train. Then i go say, some of the trains, got no animation or some of them got the special annoucement.

Insider Info/Not found out via depot tour =/= Why the staff is angry with you

Actually I wonder why you people like to ask about announcements, which dont be offended, I think it is most stupid question can be asked (Even if I am the staff) since this can be changed as and when they liked.
Well, the main reason for KCD tour is to understand CCL details, why go understand CCL announcements?
BTW, you guys also bombard the Tour Guide of LTG on announcements, she is so sian, but possibly sian of me asking things like Kallang Line, North Shore Line and possibly Eastern Region Line. Hey! I think I got a concept plan 2040 for it. (Sources: LTA 1996 whitepaper, previous "Future MRT Lines" in Google, Official sources for DTL etc --- by then I draw it out should be ready le)
is there any possibility that EWL and NSL will be upgraded to a fully automated line like the CCL?
in the future later have Jurong LRT right?

Upgrade fully automated line? Almost no chance because those fully automated line is not really suitable when heavy rains comes.
Jurong LRT? Wai until the surroundings in the Jurong West become fully developed then say, I guess by then it would be more than 2020. (I believe high chance that the Punggol North spur line definitely will be built, as the area is too deserted from any main transport line, but it needs the entire Punggol East and West to be developed before there. In conclusion, both LRTs are just temporarily suspended and definitely will be built, but would it by 2030 or 2040 or even further? Thats the question.)

Both Sengkang and Punggol's LRT was build BEFORE the town was developed. Look at BPLRT, it ended up, SCREWED! I been there a few times, the bus stops are ALWAYS more crowded than their stations.
Sengkang and Punggol right, their HDB flats are build at least 6m away from the tracks so there is privacy (and that was always the rule, >6m cover windows or whatever u call it)
Jurong LRT is gonna have alot of problems too. Build Jurong LRT? Why not buid Bedok LRT too? Thats the problem, Jurong West - too big, Bedok - TOO EPIC BIG

So 42 C830s were purchased?

40 only if i am not wrong.

yup 40. Anyway apart from sets 01 and 02, are there any other missing trains? i've been taking CCL very often but I still have not seen many of them yet: like 04-06, 08, 09, 12, 14, 16,19, 20, 33-35 and 37-40... any of these missing too?
Maybe I have not been taking enough but due to work limitations I simply afford any time to camp...

MANIKEVUM! I like annoucement and there is no one to stop me. And one of the reasons I like train is because of the annoucements.

Why do they only run selected trains? and at such random numbers? don't they rotate so that some trains wont wear out faster than others? I'm speaking long term here

haha...maybe they choose..or still want to keep it first for future use. i understand your long term...who knows...smrt.

haha yea they do strange things these days
Originally posted by zidane_tiew:Haha! They dun even think abt the consequences before they do anything…eg. The cost for washing the train, repairing the train.)
Dont get it. If you run all the 30 ~ 40 C830s before 17 April 2010, averages the train uses 1 day per week (Expected 5 trains in service per day, all the rest in depot), you need to wash 30 ~ 40 trains. If you run purely 5 trains or at most 10 trains, your 20 others train are still in the mint condition.
So far set 01 confirmed NOT in KCD???
Set 04 was only spotted first day of stage 1-3 operation, after that I only see it for 3 times

Some trains have not been handed over to SMRT yet. (from Alstom, not LTA) Some examples are set 1 and 2.
Also, Set 1 should be in KCD, can't be in service, and it's already been delivered to Singapore.
