visitors to nearby Singapore Discovery Centre =D
Hopefully SDC can provide shuttle to & from Joo Koon MRT or maybe no need since it's 10 mins walk i think

yeah.. gotta wait until Monday to be safe. But then I'm still not too sure whether it'll be open on monday. Don't go there if you're at a rush of time.

Anyone seen the new maps in trains?
13/14 not yet to be changed
nsl is even more twist and turned
The Taipei Rapid Transit Corporation included the cable car system “Maokong Gondola” into its rail maps as well. Only difference is that there you could actually use their “EasyCard” to pay for both train and gondola fares as well.
Would be nice if one could pay Sentosa Express fares with the ezlink card as well, especially with all the hype over a common card standard CEPAS.

not all trains have the updated maps. trains like 091/092 and 103/104 has yet to change into the new maps.
at city hall or raffles place mrt stations, notice the map at the platform towards any other direction except joo koon (which the nearer stations to them such as boon lay and lakeside are coloured grey). they are not updated to reflect pioneer and joo koon.
So first train will go straight to Joo Koon already? Or will it be like the Woodlands extension last time, after ceremony then open?

How do you open 2 stations when they aren't really open?
2 Boon Lay stations open
Transport Minister launched the two new stations, Pioneer and Joo Koon, that will form the Boon Lay extension on the East-West line.
The two stations will open to the public from Saturday . They are expected to help cut travelling times by up to 15 minutes.
Pioneer station, situated along Jurong West Street 63, will serve residents in the vicinity, who currently have to take a feeder bus to Boon Lay MRT.
Joo Koon station, located in an industrial area, will provide a direct rail link for workers there.
Calling the opening of the stations a significant milestone, Mr Lim said the new extension will 'help to improve the attractiveness of public transport as a choice mode of travel.'
The Boon Lay extension is among $40 billion of rail projects that the Government is building to double the rail network here.
The new extension cost $436 million to build and was completed in 3 1/2 years.
