  Honestly, I don't think their service standard is up-to-par. You can't put new in the old because it looks weird, maybe they are planning this for the 1st-gen trains after refurbishment. Think the one in tamago's pic was a pilot test.
  
  I think they are testing it out first on 1g, then followed by 2g and 3g to see which one fits the best.

  So good. Even if the annoucement is not clear, you could see the display to see where's the train heading to the next destination.
  
  I think they should also improve on the cabin to minimise the noise if possible.

  I remember I once sat a c151 train on the EWL in the early 1990s with LCD screens which displayed information like this. But Wikipedia says it has been removed already.
  The LCD screens in the 3G trains display ads only...

  SMRT probably have other plans... when the 1G trains have been fully transformed, we will see what SMRT does.

  The In Train Dynamic Route Maps are found on Cars 105/106. They ran on the North South Line Southbound today during the morning peak (0730).

  thanks for the lead. didn't expect it to be the cadbury train. i caught it on evening peak just when it came out of Bishan. it was out on afternoon shift, and is still running on NSL as we speak. :yes:
