This does not necessarily mean that hardly to be seen = disappeared. I have not seen them for some times, not even a single appearance of those train whenever I am in MRT. -

but if i'm not wrong, the trains change depot once in a while. or maybe u can try to identify the depot based on TRN cos both bishan (via TRN 04x) and ulu pandan provides trains to both lines. -

NSL trains have TRN of 050 ~ 099,
EWL trains have TRN of 000 ~ 049.
Whenever a train with EWL TRN runs on the NSL, it is meant to transfer to the EWL at JUR.

In the mornings, Bishan Depot deploys trains to both SB and NB of NSL.
Simultaneously, Ulu Pandan Depot deploys trains on the NSL SB, as well as EWL EB & WB.
Also, Changi Depot will send out trains both EB and WB...
Actually Ulu Pandan depot deploys the more of the two. o_O
I take the morning trains weekdays almost everyday... Trains from Bishan start off with 051. However 051 stops as Yishun and turns SB to be the first train from Yishun. Otherwise, the first train beyond Yishun is 050 (The first train SB from Ulu Pandan is 050, follower by 078, 079, 080, 081 blah blah blah...).
The next train from Bishan takes over as the first train beyond Yishun with TRN 052, then 053, 054, 055, 058 (Don't ask me why for the leap), 059, 061 blah blah blah...
That's for the NSL.
First train from MB ~ Bishan is also 051... after it turns around. Arrival time at Bishan is around 0605 hours and it then joins the other trains that are being deployed from the depot.
Theoretically, 051 is the first train on both the SB and NB from Yishun to MB. o_O -

I finally boarded refurbished 003/004 with TRN 004 on EWL at 950am yesterday morning. And then I boarded 013/014 heading for Jurong East from City Hall station. But sorry I missed the TRN of 013/014. -

spot on. these are also the observations i see, though i only keep track beyond the first 3 and won't know the existence of 057. in fact, the timetables might trick us into believing that the first on-service train arriving at MRB at 0557 might do the crazed run of departing MRB at 0559, which is possible but pretty rush.Originally posted by Oceane:HUH? 13 mins gap is to allow another train from Bishan Depot to go in between them, leaving 6/7 between the trains. Estimated TRN should be 062 or 063. -

Sounds wierd right? It'd be more sensible if it turns around at Toa Payoh since the crossover tracks are between Toa Payoh and Braddell.
Extra note: A scenario on how 057 turns around in the midst of operational trains from AMK:
Scenario : Since 051 arrives at Bishan at 5.38am, and it takes 7 minutes for the train to get from Newton to Bishan NB, 057 could have departed at around 5.30am, arrive at Orchard at 5.40am while 051 reaches Bishan at 5.38am. At 5.40am 051 would be at around Braddell. Then 057 executes a turnaround from the crossover south of Newton station to arrive at around 5.44am, while 051 reaches Newton at 5.45am (according to travel timings). Then 057 would camp there till 5.59am. ^^
