Ok, thanks all for your confirmation on 039/040.
Anyway, one C651 will not be refurhished secretly until at least 2009 I think.
I notice 031/032 and 097/098 have their in-train MRT system maps missing (the ones without the North East Line on the advertising panels). Is SMRT going to install the passenger information system over them? Can someone clarify?
Does 099/100, 091/092 uses old or new annoucements. 103/104 and 89/90 refurbuses old annoucements.

Think I saw 101/102 being refurbished as of today. Saw the Korean workers dismantling the trainset and doing metal works in the workshop. NOT TOO SURE SO PLS HELP ME CONFIRM
Saw 107/108 coming back to the Bishan depot today. Looks totally battered. Will try to upload pics on another post. Could see the red line on the body coming off, as though it just went through war zone.

105/106 has completed refurbishment but still not out yet, so 101/102 could be doing refurbishment to cover up the 4-at-once system.
107/108 used to have NTUC ad so obviously when they tear down the ad one would be able to see the ugly condition of the original aluminium body.

101/102 mia very long le. i saw 107/108 with NTUC ad last week in Bishan depot. but the seats removed and the handle bars and grab poles changed to the refurb type.
Koreans hard at work doing the 095/096 MLU.
101/102 in the midst of MLU. All the interior and stuff have been removed, leaving only the aluminium body
107/108 in battered shape. Observe the red line stickers are ripping apart
Look closely at the interior of the train. New grabpoles... (somewhere in the right of this pic)

Nice pics!
Finally we get to see 107/108's original livery wor. =D
Actually I'm still rather impressed with 107/108's original livery condition... One should have gone to see how 089/090 looked like when they tore down the advert. =D

Thanks kench-an for sharing pics. Look very nice.
Nice photos kench-an, though a little blurred. Wonder if later refurbished trains will come installed with the passenger information displays before deployed for passenger service.
105/106 refurbished on passenger service today.
Hope Ben can share with the rest the pics he took. =D
kudos, i admire all your dedication and knowledge level of smrt trains.
107/108 is up next, 095/096, 101/102 and maybe finally 029/030.
Happy spotting!
MLU project pace is getting accelerating... SMRT has completed refurbishing almost half of whole fleet of trains. So SMRT will need about 7.5 months to complete the rest half which means approximately 7 months x 4 trains = 28 trains.
think i boarded 003/004 2day ard 8.40am at tampines westbound.
the "doors are closing" announcement became... "doors are -cut off-"
so every station was a "doors are".....-doors close-
didnt know the word closing so vulgar. haha.

Why do trains terminate at AMK/Yishun as they like? I thought trains will just go from Jurong East to Marina Bay and vice versa?

They usually head down from Jurong East, terminating at Bishan Depot for the night. So they would run service all the way to AMK, and then off service to go to Bishan Depot.
Trains starting from Yishun will off service all the way since the distance is short.
You would most probably see them during peak hours.

after peak hours there is no need for so many trains so many trains will start to terminate service and head back to the depot. for AMK, the Yew Tee crossover trains, 3 of them will come from ulu pandan depot, do the yew tee evening peak shuttle for 2-3 trips. the first train does 3 trips while the other 2 do 2 trips. den once they done those trips, they head towards amk and terminate at amk and go back to bishan depot. the reason why terminate at amk. smrt dunwan it to go all the way down to marina bay and up again. straight away withdraw and put in bishan depot as the demand isnt that high and that the trains wont need to travel much before termination.
yishun will be from marina bay only. there are no SB trains terminating at yishun currently. only NB. cos it is quite ridiculous to go all the way to Jurong East and off svc back to bishan depot. and since many ppl alight at yishun, smrt decided to put the termination svc to yishun. actually sembawang and woodlands have a big demand also. but it seems smrt doesnt want to extend it to woddlands as its too far to get back to bishan depot. makin an off svc trip from woodlands to bishan depot seems to costly for them
every night, there are trains terminating at kranji, amk and toa payoh too.
