Hmm... isn't this train also the one with the dynamic route map?Originally posted by Novawin™:Diary Milk Train = Purple Chocolate Milk Train?
If it is, 105/106 train is purple train with chocolate everywhere over the train body. I seen 105/106 train in purple several times.
Can't be, I always take the morning trains and they hover around these numbersOriginally posted by Oceane:You probably saw the wrong numbers?
I saw 079/080 a couple of days ago unrefurbished... maybe i saw a ghost train.
thanks alot dude... speaking of advertisements, will 2nd gens ever have advertisements on them?Originally posted by Oceane:Here is a list of trains that have advertisement on them (I try to remember all I can):

Can't recall what train numbers, must ask tammy.
Thanks for comprehensive list of advertisement train. One thing that is interesting to me is 085/086 Microsoft Windows Vista WOW. I have not seen it but hopefully I will catch it one day.Originally posted by Oceane:Here is a list of trains that have advertisement on them (I try to remember all I can):

I thought it was placed on 001/002 after being taken out from 105/106? And yes, it is already removed and no longer to be available on any train.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:it used to have... i did ask tammy last time cos i went hunting and found it on new year's eve '06... but by then they remove liao... heard they moved it to 005/006 but i don think its there anymore..
No.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:thanks alot dude... speaking of advertisements, will 2nd gens ever have advertisements on them?
IKEA Tampines: 085/086Originally posted by Novawin™:And I think you have overlooked one more advertisement train - IKEA Tampines. But I could not remember the car number.
Boarded 005/006 on NSL from City Hall station at 10.30pm today. After I alighted out of the train, I also notice the spring metal that connect in between the ends of each carriage is not clean too. Can see dirty and brown on some parts of spring metal. Do you also notice that too?Originally posted by Oceane:All these are correct... in fact i was lucky enough yesterday to take 2 refurbished trains...
2.30pm: 005/006 (075)
6.50pm: 035/036 (076)
However, i noticed that the part connecting two carriages was not fully refurbished. The stainless steel plates connecting them were not polished, and remained dirty. Furthermore, I found out that the white coat of paint on the doors got dirty easily. Lastly, 005/006 did not have the glass panels changed as compared to the other trains. If you look at the glass panels of 005/006, they did not have a distrubuter name (in this case, the supplier for new glass panels was DXXXXXX CLUE).
Confirmed that 079/080 is not refurbished train. Spotted it last few days ago. I don't think SMRT will refurbish 079/080 temporarily and then be reversed back to original and white state. Once the refurbishment is completed, then it become permanent.Originally posted by ndmmxiaomayi:Can't be, I always take the morning trains and they hover around these numbers
079/080
083/084
065/066
Of these 3 trains, the first 2 are refurbished and I've taken them.
Not unless 079/080 is a temp refurbished train.
Thanks for enlightening me with this.Originally posted by Oceane:IKEA Tampines: 085/086
085/086 was orginally given a "Happy Birthday Singapore 2006!!!" advertisement, but later changed to IKEA Tampines, and now Microsoft Windows Vista "WOW".

i thought its the advertisement material that makes the train dirty? as in after they remove the advertisements they become dirty?Originally posted by Oceane:No.
One reason why SMRT put advertisements on 1st gens is to make them look cleaner. If you notice, 1st gens tend to get dirty easily than 2nd gens.
Could be.Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:i thought its the advertisement material that makes the train dirty? as in after they remove the advertisements they become dirty?
i wont say biasness la... i'm quite certain the body material of 1st and 2nd gen is different cos until now 2nd gens still look very white... they're also 'refurbishing' some 1st gens that are too dirty, placing shiny body coverings over the dirty ones... cant rmb specific numbers though.. basically those 1st gens that are darn shiny ba...Originally posted by Oceane:Could be.
However i think 1st gens were not given a good enough care and attention as compared to 2nd gens and 3rd gens in terms of cleaniness... Biasness?
Furthermore, I noticed that most 2nd gens Siemens trains only come out during peak hours... maybe they "treasure" 2nd gens so much they leave it till the peak hours to "reluctantly" send them out.
I think you refer to 127/128 whose body is covered with very shiny white surface. Right?Originally posted by SMRT 32373238:they're also 'refurbishing' some 1st gens that are too dirty, placing shiny body coverings over the dirty ones... cant rmb specific numbers though.. basically those 1st gens that are darn shiny ba...

Yeah I saw 021/022 during rush hour peak on EWL as well. Whats the current tally of confirmed refurbished trains? How many more to go grrrrrrrrrrrrr....................Originally posted by Novawin™:As of today, I saw 021/022 train at Bugis station at 6.15pm today. Yes, it is an refurbished train!
