There are already ad's on refurbished C151's for exterior. Take 047/048 for example.
Originally posted by Stage:Saw 2 refurbishing trains at Bishan depot today. (Anyone got any advice to see it clearer besides the stretch near KCP?)
1 with the sides and interior refurbished but the front and back still the old greyish with the mini redstripe. But bulbs changed. SMRT logo part covered with a white sheet of smth. Couldn't see the set number as it was blocked by a C751B beside it.
Second one couldn't really see. Quite far but could see that it was detached.
The refurbished trains are parked at the housing facility next to CTE after Braddell Rd exit, if you're travelling Northwards.
Originally posted by SBS2695H:I wonder when will refurbished C151 get exterior advertisments. Exterior advertisments are really a good economic sense without affecting the passenger's experience.
You're seriously lagging behind time. They already started getting them since at least a month ago. 021/022 started the ball rolling with a "Celebrate Singapore's 43rd Birthday with SMRT" advert on the exterior.
I personally like the Baron's advert because the interior is all brown.

Let me hazard a few guesses: 033/034, 037/038, 041/042, since I haven't seen them for more than a month

Thanks, Oceane. But is there a map? I don't quite get the route. I'd like to have a closer look by foot and am bringing a binoculars this time.

Took the train on EWL this wk.
Although I have not seen refurbished 093/094, I updated the list anyway. Will check this out if I have time to take train.
Originally posted by brotherchen1982:115/116 refurbished with Baron's Beer ad on interior/exterior
Yes, confirmed. Saw it on EWL last few days ago.
Originally posted by Russianroulette2004:Let me hazard a few guesses: 033/034, 037/038, 041/042, since I haven't seen them for more than a month
It's highly possible that they are undergoing refurbishment as I also have not seen them for some times. But I spotted both unrefurbished 117/118 and 067/068 running for revenue service last week.
038 is a guess in my checklist as I have seen a similar number at depot.
I took 037/038 today. Run 57P on the NSL.
Originally posted by Oceane:I took 037/038 today. Run 57P on the NSL.
hehe. i took in the morning. got a smell. anyway till now 131/132 still don't have the SMRT logo at the train ends. 037/038 needless to say. just ended refurbishment.
What about 113/114? Still don't have? Walao!! I still haven't taken a fresh train yet!! So it means my guess that I saw 037 was right! :D

One stupid question to asked, how u all checked train no.
i mean like buses like that. it is by looking at the top right thinky number in the front and the back of the train? sorry really a stupid quesion and new on trains...
Check out my post in page 43 the one with the pictures. Look at the numbers at the bottom part of the train. the first number is to see isit driver train (3) or 1st motor car (1) and 2nd motor car (2)
normal train u see will be like
3002,1002,2002,2001,1001,3001 numbers can be seen near that rubber part which joins the trains together .

I might be going to check out Bishan Depot this week! :D

Yup user Stage is right. Check towards the bottom exterior sides towards the end of the carriage, or go to the end of the carriage inside the train and check either side. You can find it.
Btw the number on the top right hand corner in the front of the train is the train run number, which denotes the type of service the train is on generally.
to bus555: here are some examples on how to differentiate and spot the train numbers as indicated in the red oval:
Or go to the end of the carriage:
Usually what I will do is during peak hours when there are more trains, you can either (i) camp at City Hall or Raffles Place for about 10 minutes (don't exceed the time limit) to spot about 3 - 4 trains, or (ii) stand at the door next to the end of the carriage and spot trains that are at the platform, usually elevated. This sounds rather lame but it works to spot newly refurbished trains or those with new ads
On another note, guess it's time to look out for 109/110 and 121/122 - likely to be refurbished very soon.
Good news! 045/046 is in the midst of refurbishment. Caught it parking at the outmost track near the back of KCP in Bishan Depot. Sides are refurbished. Interior (No idea) but front is still the old one. It only has 5 cars. The last car is probably taken for refurbishment at the front.
And 2 unknown trains in the midst of refurbishment.

045/046 might be the 50th train. :) Look out for this train guys! And most likely, it might be a 5 train refurbishment in September. If they do 5 car for the next 3 months, refurbishment will definitely be complete. But the best is refurbished 65 only and keep one. :D (How I wish :P)
No wonder that 045/046 is undergoing refurbishment... I have not seen 045/046 for some times though I have boarded 045/046 very often on NSL/EWL.
Hazard a guess: 041/042 and 043/044 are getting refurbished since I have not seen them for quite sometime.
Originally posted by Russianroulette2004:Hazard a guess: 041/042 and 043/044 are getting refurbished since I have not seen them for quite sometime.
if this 2 also in for refurbishment, that means 3 consecutive trains under refurbishment
Our dear 113/114 still has NO SMRT brand and has been looking great! 1+ out of the many 106 trains out there with no brand looks outstanding!!!
Btw, 131/132 still don't have or not?
I'll be checking the depot probably next tuesday. :)
