but if common sense is used can surely tell that SMRT will be operating the DTL since DTL will also be served partly by the Kim Chuan Depot and the Kim Chuan Depot is also used to serve CCL, which the tender to operate is won by SMRT.
There is still the tender to go through.
DTL3 seems like it'll be slightly delayed...
bombaider is from canadian or german???? hope they can continue to say siemens trains like SMRT second generation train......but alot of countries using siemens..............

Nope. It's not necessary that the company that operate CCL will operate DTL. While it will be most convenient for the operators of both lines to be the same, nothing is there to imply the impossibility of having different operators under the same roof at KCD, serving 2 separate lines... :)

Downtown Line uses C951.

Bombardier is a Canadian company. I prefer Japan-brand trains though.

Anyone has any idea which company was awarded the contract for the DTL depot @ Sungei Kadut?

DTL depot @ Kadut? Might as well start the train services from there and build it close to NSL. The future NS5 station can double as interchange.

As in construction?
C911 Not awarded yet.

Eh, its at the other side of Sungei Kadut, in fact its not really at Sungei Kadut, but opposite it, along Woodlands Rd, with a significant portion of it replacing the HDB aggregate stockpile site at Jalan Gali Batu, thats why its called Gali Batu Depot.

Oh I thought the contract was for digging + construction.

C9052 and C9053 already awarded. C9052 is Exhumation of graves, C9053 is the Advanced Earthworks at the GBD site.

Didn't know there were graves in the area.
The carpark beside Bugis junction, opposite Parkview Square at North Bridge Road has been closed since the first for the DTL...
Oppo Clarke Quay station also has some digging there for the DTL I think... o.o
Downtown Line will most probably be fully underground although it is not confirmed.

40 Alstom Metropolis C830 train sets for Circle Line.

Hi, I came across this very interesting discussion while reading about the Downtown Line.
Since Quarry Park and Temasek have been named, perhaps the stations will be located next to Quarry Park and Temasek Poly?
Taking into consideration the space required and arterial roads, I guess it may turn out like this. any comments anyone?

This won't work, the sharp edges at the Quarry Park will cause the train to "break into two"

oahiyeel is correct. Although KCD was built to accomodate CCL and DTL, but the current facilities at KCD control centre is meant for CCL, and not for DTL. The portion of tracks for CCL is not linked to the portion for DTL.
