Do you mean: When they didn't play the announcement, it makes me confused. Usually STARIS is not very accurate when there's the announcement.
Why not just check the station. The station shows the station name already.

I boarded train 011/012from Joo Koon to Pioneer. When train departs Joo koon STARIS turned off. However, VFDs still on. it says '' Next station,E1 SPARE TE1 SPARETE1 SPARETE1 SPARE TE1 SPARE EW4 Tanah Merah CG1 Expo CG2 Changi AirportTE1 SPARE N Z h r ! after leaving pionner, STARIS turned on. however, red light was blinking at Tampines. VFDs also showed Next station Tampines and the train service terminates at Joo Koon. i was like shock. then, after reaching boon lay annoucement played Tampines. At Lakeside, there was no annoucement. When reached Chinese Garden,, driver had to manually annouced Chinese Garden. after that, this SMRT staff who went in to the driver's place at Joo Koon restarted staris at everything was fine after that.

It's Tampines, Joo Koon, Lakeside and Boon Lay. Also it's manually.

009/010 the error is, when it was at RFP NB, stations arent lighted up, but doors opening this side and other side lighted..

Looks like 21x series may get AST soon
As
1. 217/218 and 219/220 have been staying in BSD as MIA
2. 235/236 used to be CHD perm, but it has been going to BSD for peak hour servicing.

STARIS in 061/062 has been re-activated as of today.
123/124, still unoperational.
