For me I don't think PMTPG have 2 version. I think is "Doors closing" announcement.
Version 1 - *Chimes* Doorrrrs are closing... (Always)

You know, my theory is that the mix of some over-enthusiastic announcements (center of the car...) and monotone announcements (Jurong East Interchange) was caused by some beta announcements being left intact.

I'm sure that in the beta, CHY stretches out the word "doors" a little more, something I've always noticed in the Circle Line announcements.

Guys, do you all feel that the unused platforms at Promenade was due to early planning then they change it last-minute due to Nicol Highway Collapse?

The unused platforms at Promenade were added in last minute after the Nicoll Highway collapse in 2004. The latter was supposed to be an interchange with the Downtown Line, but the change in location for the station (some 100m away at Republic Avenue) caused the interchange to be shifted to Promenade.
