No. I think they drive drive until like very sleepy. Example, when came out from the tunnel from Tiong Bahru. Train suddenly brakes. Then run again. A lot of train have this happen.
Another one, Tiong Bahru to Outram Park also. "Next Station, Outram Park Interchange" (Train Brakes)

Because when the train exits the tunnel, there would be a kind of force, causing the train to accelerate and TOs have speed limits to follow and timetables. So when it exceed maximum speed, they would E-brake and CM all the way to redhill.
For Outram Park I'm not sure... The throttle have the lock right?

Idk, but there was once incident at Tanjong Pagar or Tiong Bahru last year or a few years back, a train was departing the station and a train E-brake from behind, miss the train in front slightly.

1. Waiting for train then stare at scenery. You wait for train, then what do you do, if you don't have anything on your hands. (like mp3 and handheld games) Of course look around the station la, only because this TO look at the station, he felt bored so he looked at the scenery, please get a life.
2. This picture doesn't depict the whole story. This TO might be staring at the train air-con cover which had drop off during the Tanah Merah incident.
Please, I suggest you to stop taking pictures of the staff, you're just like taking pictures of people doing their job. And you're wasting the bandwidth too.

and its rare to take train without announcement.. just like last few months ago 047/048 i think took also no announcement -
On sunday, I took 121/122 and no announcements were played at all.
