  to me, NSL & EWL's peak period is very short as in e 2 mins.

  The semi peak hrs is typically 3 - 5 mins. NEL's peak period is longer at 2.5 - 4 mins.

  In any case, SMRT off peak is 7 mins.

  Where is your evidence? I don't see that except during peak hours when there are PYL bound trains.

  I think that even now with off peak periods on NSL running at 4 to 5 mins is still crowded........i think the best is for northbound trains to turn back at Yishun station on weekends at limited timings also so that the train frequency will be better between the City and Yishun as this stretch is higher usually.

This would be like a limited service like what we see for the lunchtime express service on the EWL( Outram Park to Aljunied)

  BNV <-> HBF low demand? Go see e morning crowd for buses at HBF bus stop.

  I though MacPherson MRT stn was something like Braddell Station according to wiki... but it is like other stations i think :(

  dun trust Wiki at times.

  Even the Bayfront thing confirmed for least 6 yrs only for DTL.

  Hi people, i think SMRT should not have those shortworking trips operating now really..........they should do full trips first and monitor the situation to see which sector has more demand then provide SWT train service if not it will be really a waste of resources.

  Only thing can think of it is to save number of trains running.

  Instead of 20 trains, now only need 16.

  Yes, all MRT train depot have maintenance trains (aka work train). in case the train breakdown on the track...

  NEL train depot also have maintenance trains too...
