not many ppl at Paya Lebar - Ubi really take CCL. Most still take bus to Paya Lebar Int to transfer to EWL.
Most of e CCL load inter main MRT line transfer.

Originally posted by yellowflip999:Paya Lebar is the best choice, terminate at middle platform for trains going clockwise, trains going anti-clockwise terminates at Promenade Platform B. While Dhoby Ghaut bound trains terminate at Paya Lebar Platform B and Dhoby Ghaut. Platform A in Paya Lebar unused, maybe for peak hours where trains go round the circle and terminate there instead of Promenade.
[EDIT]
Here's a diagram to help you understand better
Green CCL Service will only use Platform B.
Also, I made a mistake at Paya Lebar, green CCL continues from Blue CCL, Blue CCL terminates at Platform A, then train goes to the middle platform as DNB, then to the Platform B, before continuing it's journey.
London Underground did the very same thing to their Circle Line.
Took the last Paya Lebar Train departing Middle Platform. It show last train.

Last peak hour train departing Paya Lebar middle platform.
extending CCL from harbourfront to marina bay i think can
just in between, no stations due to the port.
then join with the CCL extension to promenade
then this CCL will be like london underground's circle line already (lasso line)

no way cos it will affect port operations esp since we're a mega transhipment hub where delays can cause a container to miss its connecting trip.

Hi guys I'm not sure if this was brought up before as there's so many pages in this thread already.
There's a middle track between Stadium and Mountbatten. And for the past few weeks I've seen 1 (possibly 2) trains on that middle track.
Anybody know's about the purpose of them being there? And by any chance know the set numbers? Thanks.

Apart of faulty trains, everyday there are last train terminate at Mountbatten. Although I dont stay until 11pm or even 12 am just to see that, but based on my experience, I can tell that the train clear passengers in Mountbatten, proceed to the middle track and then return to Mountbatten, probably serve as last train to Tai Seng and head to depot. This will be most efficient way apart of running full line which might be a bit too late night liao.

Don't get it. You said last train goes to mid track and turns back to depot. But every time i see the train (or 2 trains) in there is at noon and I can safely assume it stones there the whole day (or even night?) If what u say is true, why would they put a train there the whole day just to make it the last train to Tai Seng? Any other train in service can be used right?

Well, I did not see such trains in the noon yet becoz I yet to board trains in that time, but from the station entrance, it shows everyday's last time has a "To Tai Seng" and "To Mountbatten" (Except Stage 3, which is "To Bartley" instead)
So, I mean, everyday got trains from MRM - BAT, MRM - MBT and DBG - TAS on top of MRM - PYL middle track peak hour train. How do they work? (For MRM - MBT), is that they start in MRM, go to MBT, then force everybody alight, just like OTP LTE, then proceed to MBT - STD middle track slidings (Is Stadium called as STD, not a nice name if that were to be the case), and in my guess, it returns to MBT which serve the pax from MBT to Tai Seng and then go back to KCD.

Thanks Samuel for the insight. Do take a peek sometime soon in the day time at the middle track between STD and MBT at any end of the train you're taking regardless of direction. I know how the peak hour system works... Just wondering why there are trains not in service at all on that middle track, rather than being housed in KCD like the rest.
