They allow phototaking unlike us.
What about Friends of SMRT?

Nah. It means that in future the trains will have fans instead of aircon.
For now? Are you kidding me?
PTOs are basically telling you, give up on your hobby. After 10 years the ban is still in place, what makes you think it won't be around for another 20 years?
Might as well impose a blanket ban on photos on the forum (less LTA Open Houses).

But it is not clearly stated in the Rapid Transit Act, so they should put it, just like no food & drinks. If not, I wont even entertain these.
Hey I would like To ask if anyone would like to start a Thread to share Train Trip Sound Recordings? That will be cool bcos i hab lots on the same routes BEDOK - REDHILL

I'm not really sure about that group, cos it's a closed group and only for invited guests only. They didn't even breathe a single word about this on their webby. Everyone of us should join Friends of SMRT if possible.
Recent event: Just 2 days ago I took the last CCL train from Serangoon to Dakota, and filmed the entire train ride. Before I even started so, I asked the Station Manager for his permission, and he allowed. Along the journey, I filmed at the first door, just behind a few TOs. When they saw me, the first thing they did was to apologise to me and move back a few doors behind cos they were chatting, and scared they will spoil my video. I was so stunned loh. When I asked about the strict rules on video & photography on trains, they affrimed me that all these are allowed but do not upload any videos showing their technical operations on the train.
So I'm still quite surprised that some of us had experienced the otherwise and even ended up in the hands of the police. I dunno what's happening nowadays haha! O.o

No.
If I and SMRT friends, can I take the photo or video?
Originally posted by c751bLoVuR:If I and SMRT friends, can I take the photo or video?
No...You'll just get exclusive access to SMRT's events, such as the previe of refurbed trains

But if I taking video, SMRT will also catch me right?
Note:
Being part of Friends of SMRT does not gives you any privelleage to record videos or taking photos along the SMRT network.
Just a simple note: Anyone who is part of FOS shall not use the name FOS to defend yourself against SMRT staffs (SM, CSO etc.) who asked you to stop recording or photo taking.
Well, That was kinda silly. I meant it was like an open concept thingy and anyone can easily access the train system to survey. It is not like not uploading pictures and video would do anything to prevent things that might happen...
I enquired the situation with the station manager at Clementi today and he actually said that he didn't think that it would be a big deal if I took video footage of a train or station and posted it on the internet. After all, it's not like terrorists can't just go on a train or station and observe it if they can't just get on YouTube and watch a video of it. It's just a pointless exercise to stop us from taking videos and personally I don't quite see how it will enhance security from terrorism.
But he did mention not to take things that we normally wouldn't see often, for example, a view inside the driver's cab.

Very good! Thanks for helping us to ask! The Station Master also did not go against taking videos and photos, a step ahead for everyone here!

Well, anything that is not included in the Rapid Transit Act shall not be treated as outright wrongful / illegal.
This is a subjective question. (If not then Rapid Transit Act fake one ar!?)

If really a bomb from the camera (from a suspicious person), the SMRT still don't care about it?
