After all, it's not like terrorists can't just go on a train or station and observe it if they can't just get on YouTube and watch a video of it. It's just a pointless exercise to stop us from taking videos and personally I don't quite see how it will enhance security from terrorism.
But he did mention not to take things that we normally wouldn't see often, for example, a view inside the driver's cab.
Thanks for asking!
If anyone else wants to enquire with other staff members, that would be great (you know, like to find out exactly how many of them don't want us to take video and stuff). I'm probably gonna ask Lakeside and Boon Lay tonight and show them one of my videos to show them what kind of videos I take.

Just saying in general. Not pointing people out. Haha.

Can you tell about me too?

You meant the manager only allowed us to taking video of the drivier's cab only??

No, I mean that the cab is one example of a place NOT to film because it's something that a potential terrorist can't see on a normal journey on the MRT, unlike things like the doors, the seats and the space under them, the trainset number, etc...

How did it go?

Boon Lay flatly rejected me before I could even show them. Lakeside... they told me all videos and photos should not take. I ask them why, they said terrorists, I explain, they just tell me sorry cannot. Commonplace Singapore service lah...
Maybe sending in a online suggestion form to SMRT might get a detailed explanation (or just a flat rejection...)?
So the "Taking photo and video" when does resume?
They said they don't know. Typical S'pore. -_-

They saying angrily, happily or other?
They didn't sound angry. More like apologetic tone in a way.
So if using DC taking photo and video cannot then, using HP for taking photo and video can?

I sent one to SBST, they gave me simple explanation. Due to security reasons blablabla...
So anyone missed out for going and telling SMRT that you are interested in trains?

Don't anyhow give assumptions. :S They won't lift the ban anytime soon, or even lift the ban forever.

Not so fast.... May be wait 10 years later and no bombing other countries, then SMRT not worried anymore they will let us taking photo / video... (But not confirm, I hope only)

Such kind of saying tells you that you are kiddo.
Do you think that there will be no bombing in worldwide? Please be realistic. Terrorism is a long term war and unless, unless, the End of the World is coming or, somebody (country) managed to dominate the world and illegalize all forms of racism's extremist / religious extremist (Only extremist will do such things) with serious action (Not just talk only), such terrorist attacks is bound to happen and your dream to take such photo / video can never be done in front of a staff. (Some are famous ones like 911, which are religious extremist, and others like Moscow subway bombing is more like race's extremist or whatever, who wish to seek independence / create new country / split a country into pieces etc.... You see, this world is so complicated. I OT a bit just to explain these so that dont ask such questions anymore, just flim without being notice or none at all unless exclusive such as incidents.)
See I so good. Reduce my number of MRT videos to the minimum. :D

lol
Emailed a friend of mine who is working in Corp Comm, this is what she says:
" As part of our security measures, we do not encourage photo taking or video recording within our MRT system without prior permission. Those who are found taking photos or videos may be advised against doing so, and those who wish to do so should inform our station staff. "
