CEMETERY?? haha..i guess no TSO wanna be at that station..:x
actually the problem with the west side is the buildings are all close to one another & mostly their main roads is 2 lane one (like west coast, jurong west, jurong east, jurong west extension, lakeside). furthermore, jurong has already develop way before newer estates like tampines/pasir ris or even new towns like sengkang/punggol
so if u want to build LRT or MRT, underground or overground, it's really impossible

Its possible, Bukit Panjang has proven it, LRTs can turn like a bus, its the limitations of the train. Articulated Trams can even do a 180 degree turn if the carriages are very short and there are a lot of gang ways.
My version of Jurong LRT, heck care about the depot part, i screw up that part a little

Farmway used in Sengkang le (SW2). The old "Future MRT Line" map also got a "Farmway", that was renamed to Elias. I suggest the station there can call Tengah.

It is unlikely to have this shape. Most likely, it wil have a C shape in backwards, which connects Boon Lay MRT in purpose.

Nah, LRT weren't suppose to have more than 3 terminus. It is actually 3 loops, the link between the left loop and the right loop is just the depot link

Nah, I mean, this shape will still cause a lot of confusion on typical Singaporean.
Well, depot cannot be on UPD, i noe it has some space there, it is more likely to near NTU / Jurong West Street 2X.
I hope UPD can expand onto these empty plot of land = 5 more train slot. or so.

Nope 1 loop starts from Pioneer and the other 2 loops start from Lakeside
Connect Buona Vista and Beauty World Station (DTL) via existing Malayan Rail Track.
Buona Vista - Ghim Moh, Jelita, Holland Green, Rifle Range, Beauty World.

yeps. Quite agree. The land is Jurong is quite conjested. We're very developed. Anywhere also roads, HDB, Condos. Building it above-ground(impossible)
building it underground, it will be very tough and tricky just like Chinatown Station

Good one. They could re-use the dis-used KTM tracks for our MRT with a specially designed rolling stocks. But the problem is, the tracks and stations are on the ground.

Wow. the LRT how can go so far. From this map, the route must be very long. MRT is a prefered choice

Not MRT. Buses work best on that route.
Originally posted by leo2010agendas:People, this "Western Region Line (WRL)" is only a speculation. It may not be real in the future, or it may be a dream come true for the people living, working, and playing in the western side of Singapore.
To those suggesting the colour for the line: lime green, yellow, or cyan...might be possible in future.
Anyway, just wait for news of the future MRT network system unveiled by Sameul and myself, or other LTA Project Planners. In the meantime, putting myself in the shoes of LTA planners, and residents in western region Singapore, a re-edited version of the WRL:

North South Line-2
North East Line-2
Circle Line-2
Downtown Line-1
Thomson Line-0
Eastern Region Line-0
That is great ! it's awesome.
But one thing i wanna say. The Japanese Garden station should be named Yuan Ching. Taman Jurong has a main road from Jurong West and it's called "Yuan Ching rd". If they use Taman Jurong, it will confuse commuters so i shall call it Yuan Ching
By the way if you name it Japanese Garden, it will not be fair to Chinese Garden as they are side by side. Remember there's EW25 Chinese Garden too.
will there be a line to connect places like Tampines or Pasir Ris to the North (i.e. Yishun or Woodlands?)

Maybe in the future there could have a perimeter line.
Changi Airport → Pasir Ris → Punggol → Sembawang → Admiralty → Woodlands→ Lim Chu Kang → Nanyang → Pioneer → Tuas South → West Coast → Pasir Panjang → Telok Blangah → Harbourfront → Marina South → East Coast → Marine Parade → Upper East Coast → Changi Airport
Just like Circle Line, but this Circle Line is BIGGER

Fail. According to 2001 plan map, it will connect to Boon Lay, serve the Nanyang / NTU people. So you have to tweak some of them.

Such perimeter line is awesome, except that no demand in LCK is one blocker point.
Another thing is that rumoured TSL will have 4 train cars, 5 doors, that effectively makes it incompatible with any of the present MRT line (Except ERL as they are not announced and anything could happen.)
What is going to happen is that this perimeter line is a mixture of different lines:
Stage 1:
Changi Airport → Pasir Ris → Punggol → (Seletar - Yishun East) → Sembawang --- No comments, it should be the planned North Shore Line in concept plan 2001.
Stage 2:
Sembawang → Admiralty → Woodlands --- WTH? A future line is duplicating with NSL? My take is either this is a NSL Woodlands Extension OR North Shore Line extends to:
Sembawang → Senoko (TSL) → Marsiling (Near Woodlands Checkpoint)
Stage 3:
Woodlands → Lim Chu Kang → Nanyang --- LCK? Too near to live firing area, unless there is a HDB estate gonna to be rebuilt in the next 30 years, I dont forsee such a line. If there is any, it would likely to be:
Marsiling (Near Woodlands Checkpoint) → Neo Tiew / Kranji / Sungei Kadut → Lim Chu Kang → Nanyang
But since this sounds too crazy, then it would likely to be:
DTL Stage 2 extension (Who say it must end at Bukit Panjang or Kranji / Sungei Kadut. The concept plan 2001 shows this part should have extended all the way to Marsiling Checkpoint and turn a curve to meet the present TSL, maybe 1 station here can compenstate 1 station in my version of Bedok spur line posted earlier.) + Holland Line (Possibly together with Jurong Region LRT as well).
Detailed description:
Marsiling (Near Woodlands Checkpoint) → Gali Batu / Bukit Panjang → Hillview / Beauty World → Bukit Batok East (Toh Yi / Toh Tuck) → Bukit Batok Interchange (Yes, the concept plan did draw a line interchange with BBT and CCK --- excluding the LRT) → Bukit Batok West (Near MI) → Hongkah / Jurong Canal? → Nanyang
Stage 4:
Nanyang → Pioneer → Tuas South → West Coast --- Jurong Region LRT for Nanyang - Pioneer while Pioneer - Tuas South would be BLE + Tuas West & South extension since it would likely to be no demand to build Jurong Region LRT towards there or build another MRT spur line for that sector.
Tuas South - West Coast case will be like my illustration of Tuas Express Line / Western Region Line, even though they might consider to connect Kent Ridge instead as the following reason:
1: Kent Ridge has a slidings like Outram Park. All stations with special crossovers will make them a bright station. (With bright future) Source: It has a Temporarily Holding Area or sort of and it is known from people who went to KCD tour that when CCL 4 / 5 opens, the SWT will terminate in One North (And use the ONR - KNT slidings, similar to Mountbatten - Stadium case.) and Paya Lebar middle track.
2: Read on to Stage 5 of this passage.
Stage 5:
West Coast → Pasir Panjang → Telok Blangah → Harbourfront → Marina South -- Very obvious, this is Circle Line Stage 5, with the Harbourfront - Marina South sector is more likely to be "Stage 6", and instead of South, it should be closing the loop / or top up with Marina South extension in NSL will do.
What I forsee is that instead of a new line duplicating this sector, they should do this (If they do the Stage 4 part of this passage, they should top up with this to make it better)
Kent Ridge → Alexandra → Bukit Merah → Radin Mas → Bukit Prumei → Keppel (And interchange with "NE2", and optionally) → Marina South / Barrage
Stage 6:
Marina South → East Coast → Marine Parade → Upper East Coast → Changi Airport --- No comments. This should be the route for Eastern Region Line, with Changi Airport extended upwards to Changi Point.

It feels like combining all MRT lines to become 1 line. How about call it - NSEW Line? NSEW Line - NSHL(North Shore Line) + TSL+ DTL Extension + WRL/TEL + Marina Bay Extension +ERL
Originally posted by sni1996:It feels like combining all MRT lines to become 1 line. How about call it - NSEW Line? NSEW Line - NSHL(North Shore Line) + TSL+ DTL Extension + WRL/TEL + Marina Bay Extension +ERL
As I said earlier, there are chances that TSL is incompatible with any other rail lines and earlier speculation by others is that TSL and ERL might merged together like a "new DTL", despite it is only obvious to say that there is an interchange in the Marina areas to link the 2 lines up. What if especially, ERL is really linked to TSL?
In summary, I would say a perimeter line like this is possible in the sense of entire rail network and not a particular single line. Just like LTA dont like long winded bus routes.....

Im sorry, there's many errors here. J12, Hong Kah station is TOTALLY Impossible.
The place is on Hong Kah Sec Sch. There is not almost, is totally no space.
J11 also can't, the name cannot be Westwood. Westwood is near Jalan Bahar, a few kilometers away!
In actual fact, LRT in Jurong West seems impossible. Jurong West/East is too developed, there are many roads... many buildings built close together
