Southbound train service on the North-South line was delayed by a signalling fault near Marina Bay station at around 7.50am on Thursday morning.
An SMRT spokesman said commuters experienced a general delay of eight minutes in journey time along the North-South Line.
Returning northbound train service was also affected due to the high number of trains SMRT is running during the morning peak, as the trains took more time to turn around after Marina Bay station, she added.
She said the signalling fault was resolved in 13 minutes.
