this shows a huge gap in our disaster recovery system ....it was caught as quite a surprise to the engineers....
luckily it was a technical issue than a planned terrorist attack...
wat if there was an explosion?

a lot of small eateries have sprout at these MRT stations. Good biz opportunity.
Need to shit how? Plastic bag?
Past MRT breakdowns:
I am quite surprised as their "income opportunity" have increased after the fare increase and understand that is why there is a "template" for the taxi uncles.
As for the unforseen event, it is will be treated as an isolated incident.
yes, its now an emergency

Taxis cos even have template on MRT breakdown. Huat ah!
this also implicates into whether the technical staffs, esp. ground maintenance staffs are well paid or not....of course we do know the top is well paid.....
pay peanuts get emergencies?

yes...they have this bag....so called....

supplied by SMRT?
if the system is sophisticated and less susceptible to failures....that would leave with human elements.....the importance of the morale and quality of maintenance/ ground staffs.....

Wait you get a stomachache then you will regret it.
Stuck in a dark mrt carriage packed like sardines with thousands of commuters with no way out.
Can SMRT doors be forced open when the train is immobile in the tunnel?
Originally posted by FireIce:wat if there was an explosion?
Follow the drill.
Walk slowly and exit the carriages in a single file as instructed by smrt staff.
Wah, now they try to lighten the commuters' mood by reporting on this.
I personally like the sadako one.
Now, the millionster and his dog (the only other dog who come forward to be the hero) start to bark at the transport company.
Expressing their disappointment and pointing the finger.
With the history of the breakdown so frequent, the millionster would have taken actions BEFORE this incident happened.
Did his department perform their audit properly ?
After all the emergency drill performed throughout the years, are we now informed that it is ineffective ?
What he did was approving the fare increase and did nothing during the initial breakdown, denoting them as isolated incident.
40m of power rail got problem but not detected during maintenance checks?
tot tt time say fare hike bcos need more manpower
the more manpower gone to do wat?
step it up step it up~~~~~~~~~~~~~
We can complain all we want.
Nothing will change.
At most, some cosmetic changes to appease the angry commuters.
cosmetic changes?
then why they angry when some ang moh wanna paint the trains at the depot?
Sacking the CEO or the board is not the right solution, neither is fine for the SMRT.
What
should be done is to fine the CEO and the top management hefty
(equivalent to the loss for SMRT) for gross incompetency and make sure
they work and solve the problem.
Fining a corporate is like
pinching a statue, no pain, fining the CEO and top management is human,
they have to feel the pain with at least 1 year salary for each
incident. CEO and chairman will have to pay more. Don't let them resign
and go scott free. If cannot pay, jail them.

Isn't it obvious that a damage over such a distance can only be caused by a moving object which meant that it was caused by a train itself?
We should actually be thankful that no derailing actually occured because the train that damaged the rails likely had a fault, and damage to any part of the tracks can derail the following trains.
now she shd relli step down
one boob no flat, one boob rise again

Agree. SMRT itself should take the CEO to court.
