Two cars and bus collide at Bt Timah road, no one injured
SINGAPORE : Two cars collided with a bus along Bukit Timah Road on Saturday evening.
One of the cars caught fire which was quickly put out.
The other car was also damaged after hitting the railings.
Police said no one was injured.
The accident, which occurred at the junction of Upper Bukit Timah View, caused a massive traffic jam. - CNA /ls -

Lamp post uprooted in car collision, driver unhurt
SINGAPORE: A car rammed into a lamp post on Tuesday afternoon, turning it into a twisted wreck.
Police said the car was heading towards Bedok when it skidded and crashed into the lamp post.
The driver escaped without visible injuries and declined medical treatment.
The accident occurred along Upper Changi Road East at around 3.40pm.

Lorry overturns, another catches fire in separate incidents
SINGAPORE: A lorry has overturned and another has caught fire in two separate incidents on Wednesday.
In the first incident, which occurred at about 10.15am, a lorry landed on its side after colliding with a taxi at the junction of Upper Thomson Road and Marymount Road.
The lorry driver escaped unhurt.
But the taxi driver, a woman, was visibly shocked and was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital for observation.
The second incident occurred at around 12.30pm.
The cabin of a trailer caught fire along West Coast Highway in front of Pasir Panjang Building.

Road accident at Jurong Island Highway leaves 15 injured
SINGAPORE: A road accident at Jurong Island Highway early Thursday morning has left 15 people injured.
Police say a bus and a mini-bus collided shortly after they crossed the checkpoint at Jurong Island at around 6.30am.
The injured persons were believed to be on their way to work.
10 were sent to the National University Hospital, while the remaining five were taken to Alexandra Hospital. - CNA/yy -

MediaCorp News vehicle involved in car accident
SINGAPORE: A MediaCorp News van was involved in an accident with a car on Friday afternoon.
The incident happend just after 3pm at the junction of Lornie and Thomson Roads.
The van was travelling along Braddell Road towards Lornie Road, while the car was turning into Thomson Road.
Both vehicles collided at the traffic junction near the MacRitchie Reservoir entrance.
The van's driver was unhurt, but one passenger in the car was sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.
The car was damaged on its left side, while the van had its front bonnet dented.

Thomson Rd accident leaves female motorcyclist injured
SINGAPORE: Traffic slowed to a crawl along Thomson Road on Wednesday afternoon after a motorcyclist collided with a car at about 4pm.
According to eye-witnesses, the car was making a U-turn near Jalan Novena Barat when a motorcyclist, who could not stop in time, rammed into it.
Police say the motorcyclist, a woman in her twenties, suffered facial and hand injuries, and was sent to Singapore General Hospital.
The driver of the car was not injured and is assisting police with investigations. - CNA/yy -
Traffic slows to crawl after accident and fallen tree
SINGAPORE: Traffic at two expressways came to a crawl on Saturday afternoon.
A motorcyclist and a pillion rider were injured when they collided with two cars.
The scenes were captured on Land Transport Authority cameras located at the Seletar Expressway (SLE), towards the Bukit Timah Expressway (BKE) near the Mandai exit.
The motorcyclist and pillion rider suffered hand and leg injuries, while the drivers of the taxi and the car escaped unhurt.
In a separate incident, a fallen tree on the Ayer Rajah Expressway (AYE) towards the city, near Portsdown Road, affected three of its lanes.
Traffic slowed as emergency services cleared the tree and debris.

Man dies after losing control of motorcycle
SINGAPORE: A man died on Saturday night, after losing control of his motorcycle along Dairy Farm Road.
Police said the motorcyclist, who was in his late-60s, was riding towards Bukit Timah Expressway at about 10.30pm, when his motorcycle skidded and crash-landed onto a grass patch nearby.
He suffered serious head injuries and was unconscious when he was sent to the National University Hospital.

Two separate accidents on Changi Flyover on Sunday morning
SINGAPORE: There were two separate accidents on the Changi Flyover on Sunday morning and both resulted in the vehicles overturning.
Police received a call reporting the first accident at 6.20am.
A van, travelling along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) towards the East Coast Parkway (ECP) on the Changi Flyover, had skidded and overturned.
The driver, who is in his mid-20s, was arrested for drink driving.
Twenty minutes later, the police received another call about an accident involving two cars.
The vehicles were travelling along PIE, on the Changi Flyover, in the direction of Tuas.
They collided and one of the cars overturned, causing its front seat passenger to suffer cuts and bruises.
The injured passenger was later sent to the Changi General Hospital.

3 sent to hospital after 7-vehicle pile-up at Boon Keng/Serangoon Rd junction
SINGAPORE: An accident involving seven vehicles at the Boon Keng/Serangoon road junction caused traffic to come to crawl on Saturday afternoon.
Wet weather and slippery roads contributed to the pile-up, which according to an eyewitness, occurred at about 2.15pm.
Blood stains, shattered windows and mangled metal from the vehicles were spotted at the accident site.
Police say three people were sent to Tan Tock Seng Hospital, complaining of chest, neck and back pains.

One died, 14 injured after lorry overturns on PIE
SINGAPORE: One died and fourteen others were injured when their lorry overturned after colliding with a car along the Pan Island Expressway (PIE) on Thursday.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force said the accident happened at 8.16am in the direction towards Changi near Bedok Reservoir View.
The injured were sent to Changi General Hospital (CGH).
The foreign worker who died was sitting at the back of the lorry.

Woman dies after being hit by bus at Rochor Rd/Queen St junction
SINGAPORE: A woman died after she was run over by a Johor Bahru—Singapore Express Bus on Tuesday evening.
The accident happened just before 11pm at the junction between Rochor Road and Queen Street.
Witnesses said the pedestrian was pinned under the left rear wheel of the bus.
She was pronounced dead by paramedics at about 11.15pm.

Sports car veers off, ends up in drain along Bendemeer Road
SINGAPORE: There was drama on Sunday afternoon when a Channel NewsAsia cameraman went to film a car which had veered of the road.
The incident happened at about 1pm when the sports car ended up in a drain along Bendemeer Road, near the slip road into Upper Serangoon Road.
When the cameraman arrived at the scene, the carÂ’s driver, who had minor injuries, tried to stop the filming of the accident.
At one point, he even got aggressive, but he later apologised and allowed shots to be taken.

Pillion rider falls off motorcycle, dies in hospital
SINGAPORE: A motorcycle pillion rider in his late 20s died in hospital on Saturday morning after falling backwards while the bike was moving.
Police said the accident happened at around 2.45am along Jurong West Street 42, near Block 552.
According to the rider, the deceased lost balance suddenly and suffered multiple injuries.

SINGAPORE : A bus driver was sent to Changi General Hospital after his vehicle mounted a grass verge at the roundabout along Amber Road on Thursday.
Police were alerted to the accident at about 4.30pm.
It is understood that there were no passengers on the SBS Transit bus when the accident happened.

Van stuck in hole as parking lots sink 1.8m at Gloucester Road
SINGAPORE: A van was partially stuck in a hole at 8.40am on Friday after a parking lot sank.
The incident happened in front of Block 10, Gloucester Road.
Witnesses who called the MediaCorp News hotline said that the van was not damaged and the driver was unhurt.
Excavation work was conducted at the site and it revealed that the hole was the size of three to four parking lots at a depth of about 1.8 metres.
Engineers from the Housing Development Board (HDB) have inspected the site and its surrounding areas.
They said the sinkage is localised and there are no visual signs of ground settlement in the vicinity.

System malfunction at Woodlands Checkpoint causes traffic build—up
SINGAPORE : A system malfunction at Woodlands Checkpoint on Wednesday evening caused traffic build—up and created problems for many commuters.
A spokesperson from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said bus and motorcycle lanes were the ones affected.
She added that the automated immigration clearance system for these lanes started functioning intermittently from 7.30pm, and officers had to switch to manual clearances.
Callers to Channel NewsAsiaÂ’s hotline said the situation was chaotic.
The ICA spokesperson said by 11pm, congestion had eased.
The problem, however, has yet to be solved and the system is still functioning intermittently.

System malfunction at Woodlands Checkpoint causes traffic congestion
SINGAPORE : A system malfunction at Woodlands Checkpoint on Sunday evening resulted in a traffic congestion for motorists and commuters departing from Singapore.
Callers to Channel NewsAsiaÂ’s hotline reported congestion of more than an hour.
A spokesperson from the Immigration and Checkpoints Authority (ICA) said it affected the departure traffic from Singapore.
ICA described the latest problem as a "system downtime" which took place from 9:15pm to 9:25pm.
The spokesperson said it was a similar problem that affected computers at the same checkpoint on the night of November 14, where it involved the bus and motorcycle lanes.

Car ablaze after plunging into drain, charred body found
SINGAPORE: A person was killed after a car plunged into a drain by the side of Jurong Town Hall Road and caught fire early Tuesday.
The Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) said its personnel extinguished the fire immediately and found a charred body in the driverÂ’s seat.
The victim was pronounced dead at the scene. Police are still verifying the victimÂ’s identity.
There were no other casualties in this incident.

Four lorries involved in two separate accidents in Jurong, Yio Chu Kang
SINGAPORE : Four lorries were involved in two separate accidents on Wednesday.
In the first accident, two drivers ended up in hospital after their lorries collided along Jurong Port Road at around 6:04am.
Civil defence officers had to work hard and fast to rescue a driver who was trapped in the vehicle.
They had to use hydraulic tools to rescue him. He sustained lower limb injuries.
The other driver complained of back pains.
Both were sent to the National University Hospital.
The other accident, which occurred along Yio Chu Kang Road at about 2pm, saw one lorry crashing into a drain just outside an ESSO petrol station.
The driver was sent to Changi General Hospital for cuts on his forehead.

Trailer overturns along Marina Place, trapping driver in his seat
SINGAPORE: A trailer overturned just metres from a construction site near Marina City Park Sunday morning.
Police said they received a call about the incident along Marina Place at about 10.15am.
The trailer, laden with soil, skidded and overturned. The driver was trapped in the vehicle.
Civil defence officers took close to 45 minutes to extricate the 30—year old driver.

Woman in her 30s dies in accident at Bedok Road
SINGAPORE: A woman in her mid—30s died after being hit by a car at Bedok Road on Monday morning.
The Chinese woman was hit by the car while she was crossing the road.
