Motorists are advised to avoid roads in the vicinity of Shangri-La Hotel till next Thursday (24/8).
Traffic is expected to be slow especially during peak hours due to security measures put up by the Police for the 41st Asean Ministerial Meeting, Post Ministerial Conferences as well as the ASEAN Regional Forum which will be held in the hotel.
Police say the security measures are necessary in view of the current global security climate.
Apart from security checks, Police say they’ll also be conducting road blocks from Monday along Anderson Road and Ardmore Park.
Motorists heading from Tanglin Road to Stevens Road or from Stevens Road and Balmoral Road to Orchard Road are advised to use Scotts Road.
EMAS Traffic Information Boards will be put up to inform motorists of the expected heavy traffic flow.
Parking facilities at Shangri-La Hotel are limited and visitors to the hotel are advised to car pool or take public transport during this period.
Strict enforcement action against illegal parking will be taken along the affected roads, including towing.
