Especially around Beach Road
Due to the road closures for F1...
Many people were more than 30 mins late for work.
Thousands upon thousands of people will be inconvenienced everyday for the next week or so?(till 29 Sept) So that the MIW can show off to the world how much of a 1st World nation they possess?
Sighzzz...
Well if it's any consolation to you, PIE to both Jurong and Changi Airport were jam packed like crazy too....
Coz of the road closures?
I would think so.... And also the idiots who have vehicles broken down and more idiots looking at the license plates of the broken down vehicles... You know the usual drill just with even more traffic
The Prices to pay for F1 excitement. A few days of inconvenience can be tolerated.
i was 45 mins late for work. i don't understand why they must do this in cbd. grr.
Ya,the race track can be somewhere else right? I see a lot of open space and quiet roads in the suburbs
No jam in Sengkang.

I just came back from city area. The jam very bad, from beach rd b4 the st john HQ starts all the way to shaw tower, left turn to bras basah area/bugis area/ till city hall area. Massive jam. Many sbst bus just park along rd shoulder like no more mood to carry on.
the singapore race track venue is a mistake; to hold it right in the smack of the city.
the closure goes beyond this sunday. they will need at least 2 days to a week of partial closure to dismantle and repair the pavements, etc.
i drove past nicoll highway for the last 2 weekends. to put it mildly, the place is unsightly with the lights, barricades, etc.
in fact, the lights were switched on at broad daylights for testings at 4pm. what a waste of energy resource.
imagine doing this year in/year out for the next 5 years or so....
the authorities are putting a brave front to side step this major inconveniences. not to mentioned the loss of business in the area.
trains are pack. bus routes are changed and people, especially elderly who are used to the routine will be `lost' for a week.
monaco's traffic is light; melbourne hold their race away from the city in albert park.
i am not out and out against the F1 being held in singapore, but this is clearly causing a lot of inconveniences.
