Roads closure for NDP rehearsals

SINGAPORE: The following roads will be closed to facilitate the National Day Parade combined rehearsals that will be be held on 23, 30 June and 7 July.
Republic Boulevard (in the direction of Raffles Avenue between the junctions of Republic Avenue and Raffles Avenue); Raffles Avenue (in the direction of Esplanade Drive between Republic Boulevard and Temasek Ave); 2 extreme left lanes of Raffles Avenue (between Temasek Avenue and Nicoll Highway).
The roads will be closed from 9am to 11.30pm.
Police said traffic delays are expected along Raffles Boulevard, Raffles Avenue, Republic Avenue, Bras Basah Road, Nicoll Highway and Esplanade Drive. Motorists are advised to plan their route early and avoid these areas.
Motorists proceeding to Suntec City and Marina Square from Crawford Street and Ophir Road are advised to use alternate route via Nicoll Highway or Beach Road.
Those travelling to the vicinity of Suntec City and Marina Square are advised to use public transport.

At least... they have cutted down the number of rehearsals...
It is always a nightmare driving with so many road closure leading to Padang area.

If i were the Prime Minister, i would rather save the NDP expenditure and give it to the cleaners, the poor, the needy...i would invite all of them and put them as the centre of celebration....
that should be the National Day which ought to be celebrated....the greatest day to remember...
