SINGAPORE : Race organisers have made arrangements to ensure minimal traffic disruptions during this year's Formula 1 SingTel Singapore Grand Prix.
The race will take place from September 21 to 23.
Road closures will be kept to a minimum of six days.
Affected roads will be closed from September 19 to facilitate the set up of race infrastructure.
When
the race is completed, affected roads will reopen progressively and all
roads will be fully accessible by 5am, September 25 onwards.
There
will be improved accessibility to allow people to go about their normal
daily activities in the Marina Centre area while enjoying all the
excitement during the race weekend.
Motorists can continue to
access the area through a single-lane along Nicoll Highway and Raffles
Boulevard to get to the car parks of the various buildings there during
the road closures between certain hours.
Besides the
single-lane, motorists can also enter the area via Temasek Boulevard
from the ECP slip road to Rochor Road throughout the day.
This year, more roads will be opened in the morning peak hours during the road closure.
More
than 400 train trips will be added on the three race days to meet
increased demand, with train operating hours extended until 1am.
Operating
hours for selected feeder bus services will also be extended to match
the last train service during the three race days.
More details can be found on the Land Transport Authority and One.Motoring websites.
