SINGAPORE: Jurong West has been hit by a power failure affecting most street lamps in the area on Tuesday morning.
Several calls were made to the MediaCorp Hotline in the early hours.
Among them was Mr
Tan, a taxi driver, who said he was driving from Jurong Central to Boon
Lay when he noticed that all the street lamps were not working, and the
area was in total darkness.
However, Mr Tan said the power failure did not affect the traffic lights, and he did not encounter any driving problems.
Mr Kuek, a Jurong resident, also called about the same incident.
He also reported about an accident between an SBS bus and a van at Jurong West Pioneer Road, near Gek Poh Shopping Centre.
Mr Kuek said he saw a recovery truck at the scene.
A
spokeswoman from the Land Transport Authority (LTA) said their
contractors had been informed and they are working to restore power to
the affected area.
She said the cause of the power breakdown is unknown and it is being investigated.
- CNA/de
We sold our power station to foreigners.
If you want less breakdown, please pay more so that we can do maintenance regularly.
Please dun rely on the power station too much as you should rely on yourself more.
funny right? don;t have an auto matic system that reports to the responsible party when such breakdwon occurs - HAVE TODEPEND ON PUBLIC PEOPLE REPORT THEN KNOW ABOUT THE PROBLEM AND TAKE ACTION
same as CCTV installation- pass the cost to the residence to the people.
Time to take ownership of Singapore.
Why need some one ask you to figure out your own solution and ask you not to rely on them ?
Then, why pay them so much in the first place ?
