Was there a movie you've seen that affected you in some way or other?
For me, it's got to be JAWS ... I never went for a swim in the sea since and I doubt I ever will
On the lighter side, after watching a few Korean gangster movies, I'll never view gangsters in the same light ever again

Tetsuo: The Iron Man
it was weird, it was insane, it was gory, it was unreasonably violent, it was horrifyingly graphic, but it showed what film can do..
changed the way i watched movies..
and then there was Lost in Translation...
it was exhilarating.. to see that a chance meeting could result in a friendship and a bond which is beyond description.. and again, the way the movie was made, challenged what we know as movies... -

I can't think of any movie that has a great influence on me. But I would say, I do learn some lessons, way of life, sayings, reactions to certain situations, etc in movies and dramas. And I am still learning.

Actually, stellazio....you will be surprised, what you can learn from it. I am a dialogue person, meaning I like words, phrases and stuff. I actually did borrowed some lines from dramas and used it to counsel or comfort people.
The drama, sometimes are everyday life issues and situations. I have a really close relative undergoing a serious and painful situation. It is very destroying. I don't have that experience to share but I can use the lines from the drama of similiar situations on her. It did make sense but obviously, being able to do it is another issue. That's why, aiyah, life!!! -
I'm glad The Ring didn't change the way I feel about the television set coz I'd just fizzle into nothing without my korean movies and drama

I've got phobia actually. I remembered as a young teen, I watched this movie about some creatures appearing out from the toilet bowl. Then, I always look in when I'm at the "throne".

Creatures popping out from the toilet bowl? Was the movie "Ghoulies"? My "throne" issues come on occasionally at night. Not due to movies though, but newspaper reports about snakes found in other people's toilet bowls ... ick

Saw the vcd selling at HMV for $7.95 I think.. duno to buy or not, now exam period, afraid I will be tempted to watch.. -

After watching that, I had nightmares.. since then I never watched horror films again. -
Lost in Translation, i'll get the DVD when i get around to getting it

Akira - which opened up the world of anime for me
