hi ppl.. can tell me more about Winter Sonata, the show, drama or whatever it is? i heard the name many times but had yet to see it on TV etc.. thanks

Plot Summary: Unlike most tragedies with a sad ending, Winter Sonata reached a bittersweet conclusion even though everyone who had intimate connection with the two main characters paid the heavy price of emotional and mental agony. The story opened with Joon Sang portrayed by Bae Yong Jun in his finest performance and Yu Jin, played by the talented Choi Ji Woo, as two high school students who fell in love for the first time. Unfortunately, their ill-fated love suffered a cruel blow as our hero soon died in a car accident, leaving our heroine heart-broken and dispirited. Ten years later, Yu Jin found herself working on a ski resort project with Min Yeong who looked exactly like Joon Sang. Oddly enough, he was courting Yu Jin's high school rival, Chae Lin, deftly played by Park Sol Mi. Consequently, Yu Jin's uncontrollable attraction to Min Yeong jeopardized her engagement to her childhood admirer, Sang Hyuk, played by Park Yong Ha, who in conspiracy with Chae Lin, tried everything to separate the two destined lovers. When the truth came out that Min Yeong and Joon Sang were the same person and worse still, the suspicion that Joon Sang and Yu Jin were half-brother and sister, everyone involved was thrown into utter confusion, resulting in grief and detrimental pain.

Winter Sonata is one of the three released "seasons" serials. The first one was Autumn Fairy Tale aka Autumn In My Heart aka Endless Love (dunno why so many titles for one drama!). Haven't seen this one but I hear it's really tragic! The third one's Summer Scent.

Synopsis
Jun-seo (Song Seung-heon) and Eun-seo (Song Hye-kyo) were happily growing up as brother and sister until the results of a blood test turned their lives upside-down. The blood test, brought on by injury in a car accident, revealed that Eun-seo had been switched at birth with another girl. When this was brought out into the open, she was placed with her birth family and Jun-seo's family went to the United States. Years later, in his early twenties, Jun-seo returned to his hometown in Korea where he one day ran into Eun-seo unexpectedly. Eun-seo was being courted by the son of a wealthy family, Tae-seok (Wonbin), when she met Jun-seo again. She didn't realize how much she had missed him since that chance meeting. They were both working in the art field and began to spend time together. The two that had once grown up believing that they were brother and sister, had begun to develop romantic feelings. They were emotionally distraught and unsure of what to do with these feelings of romantic love.
Eventually, they decided that they had no choice but to consider themselves brother and sister. They had decided to go on one last trip together when they realized that their feelings of love couldn't be denied, turning there trip into an escape from their family and former loves. Loved ones looked upon them with disdain; they were unable to understand their newfound love. Unable to live with the guilt, they once again decided to separate.
Eun-seo returns to Tae-seok, and decides not tell Jun-seo that she is suffering from cancer. As her condition worsens ...
